Synopsis: Seema and Uma belongs to a Thakur family which earns their bread & butter through stage & dance performances and this leaves Seema disowned by groom’s father, right at the time of marriage rituals. Ashok, son of Diwan Saheb, marries Seema, then & there, to save their faces. Diwan disapproves this marriage and Ashok leaves his estate. He stays in a small rented house with Seema & Uma and starts doing odd jobs. Seema gives birth to their son, Munna. Ashok is diagnosed with an ophthalmic complicacy and need Rs.3000 for an operation which they could not manage despite many efforts. Seema writes to Diwan for money for Ashok’s eye operation. Diwan agrees on a condition that Seema leaves Ashok alone. Seema goes on to commit suicide but is saved by a man. The suicide attempt makes her loose her memory. She starts working as nurse at Dr.Balraj’s hospital. Ashok meets with a car accident and admitted to the hospital where his eyes were also operated. Uma goes to drop Munna to his grandfather and leave. But Diwan takes her as Ashok’s wife and asks her to stay with him. She agrees for the sake of Munna. Dr.Balraj wants to marry Seema but she gains her memory back before the marriage takes place. Ashok has his operation successful. He finds Seema at Dr.Balraj’s place. Diwan accepts Seema as his daughter in law.

When Anita Rajan, CEO of Sheppard power plant, an international Company, brings a power plant proposal to set up in rural Maharashtra before the Nagres, insightful Shankar is quick to realize the benefits the power plant can bring to the people. After convincing Sarkar who is against it for various reasons, Shankar undertakes a journey along with Anita to the villages of Maharashtra to mobilize support from the masses. However, things are not what they seem to be and Shankar’s dream project gradually becomes a political minefield. It is in this backdrop the evil forces mightier than ever, mushroom and gang up to bring down the regime of Sarkar and obliterate Shankar’s name from the political horizon.

Plot :
It begins with a royal Indian family, which consists of the Maharaj (Murad), his brother Shamsher Singh (Premnath) and sister Rajshree (Nadira). A local village leader named Jai Tilak (Dilip Kumar) enters a contest to tame Princess Rajshree’s horse, and after he is successful, Shamsher challenges him to a bout of fencing. Jai is declared the winner of the fight after much dispute and Shamsher is enraged at losing to a poor villager. Jai then falls in love with Rajshree and tries numerous times to woo her, but the princess’s arrogance prevents her from revealing her true feelings.

Shamsher becomes even more enraged when the Emperor Maharaj reveals that Shamsher is not the heir to his throne after his death and that he plans to free India from monarchy and turn to democracy.

Shamsher then plans to gain control of the kingdom by killing the Maharajah on the night before he is due to travel to England for a medical procedure. However, he is unsuccessful after the Maharajah escapes an attempt on his life by Shamsher’s henchmen and disguises himself as a servant in his own palace.

Shamsher then sets his eyes on Mangala (Nimmi) who is a village girl and childhood friend of Jai, but her love is not reciprocated as he is only in love with princess Rajshree. After Mangala is kidnapped by Shamsher Singh who plans to keep her prisoner in his palace and molest her, Mangala takes a bottle of poison and dies. Jai kills Shamsher in revenge and provokes Princess Rajshree to launch an attack on his village to avenge her brother’s death. Jai manages to kidnap Rajshree and sets out to gain her love by taking her into his village and forcing her to live as a peasant girl. Just when Rajshree begins to realise her feelings for Jai, Shamsher Singh who was presumed dead returns to get his revenge against Jai.

Shekhar is in love with Pooja and would like to marry her. Pooja is the only daughter of Choudhury. Shekhar informs his parents, his dad, and his stepmother, and together they all go to Choudhury’s house to finalize the marriage. Shekhar’s stepmother asks for a hefty sum as dowry, which the Choudhury is unable to afford, and thus the proposal for marriage is rejected. “Varsha Oberoi is an orphan who lives a wealthy lifestyle with her uncle, Jain Oberoi, in Bombay, and has traveled worldwide. Abbas Ali (Abhishek Bachchan) lives in Chandni Chowk with his sister Sania (Asin Thottumkal). When their ancestral property is taken from them by deception, Abbas loses his job. Their family friend, Shastri (Asrani), convinces them to move to his village, Ranakpur, where he assures Abbas that he will get him a job at his boss, Prithviraj Raghuvanshis (Ajay Devgn), place. Pritvhiraj is a powerful but kind-hearted man who hates lies and liars, and punishes them harshly. Abbas and Sania arrive at Ranakpur and meet Abbass friend Ravi (Krishna Abhishek), Shastris son, who runs a drama company with his friends.

Abbas learns that there is a temple at the border of Ranakpur and Kherwada, the village where Prithvirajs cousin Vikrant Raghuvanshi is powerful. The two cousins are archenemies. The temple, being at the border of the two villages, was disputed and has been locked for years.The plot begins when a child falls into the well of the temple and Abbas breaks the temples lock to save the child. When Prithviraj arrives at the scene, Ravi says Abbass name as Abhishek Bachchan to avoid religious controversies of a temple being broken open by a Muslim.

Prithviraj hires Abhishek Bachchan (Abbas) and is happy with his work, but Ravi and his friends have to come up with a new plan when Prithviraj spots Abbas celebrating Eid as a Muslim. Abbas and the others convince Prithviraj that the one celebrating Eid was actually Abbas, an effeminate man and classical Kathak dancer. Things become worse for Abbas and Ravi when Prithviraj kindly hires Abbas for teaching Kathak to his sister Radhika (Prachi Desai). The more Abbas tries to manage his dual life without letting Prithviraj know, the more he has to lie to cover up other lies; this forms the crux of the story. The movie ends with a climatic cliff scene where both Abbas and Pritihviraj make up after a series of lies.
