The story of Jagga Jasoos revolves around the high-profile case of Purulia Arms Drop, which took place in 1995 allegedly to overthrow the then Communist Government of West Bengal, India. Jagga, a curious and shy young boy in a quaint little town lives a happy life with his accident-prone adoptive father, Bagchi. Jagga, being self-conscious of his stammer, doesn’t speak much; until one day Bagchi teaches him to “speak” in song. Sometime later, after admitting Jagga into a boarding school, Bagchi suddenly disappears. Feeling abandoned, Jagga’s only contact with Bagchi is a VHS tape that he receives in the mail every year on his birthday. Armed with sharp detective skills, Jagga sets out to solve the mystery of his missing parent. Along the way, he finds a partner in Shruti, an accident-prone journalist with her own international criminal case to solve. Using a few tricks he learnt from Bagchi, Jagga, with Shruti, embarks on a mission to uncover details of his father’s mysterious secret life and finds himself embroiled in a worldwide smuggling racket. The film later ends on a cliffhanger as it shows Jagga and his father on a cruise ship having been captured by the Two-Headed Bashir Alexander.

Eventually, Kishan’s plan of the jealousy game works out well, but trouble brews big time when Shivani, through Kishan’s help, has Vikram thrown out of the house upon having obtained ownership of all his property by getting him to unsuspectingly sign “bank account” papers during the time he was advising a troubled Raj, who made a witness. Helpless and destroyed, the three men turn to Kishan for help again, where they request him to blow the covers of their enemies, and vow to batter their fugitives to death, little knowing that they instead have a common enemy in Kishan, who throws a subtle suggestion about the same which they fail to recognize, and while Sanjana is to keep a fast for Raj, Kishan comes up with his own plan and lures the trio to King’s house after they end up with his jacket. Kishan then arranges the trio to meet King’s wife Maddy, who too is doubting King’s possible affair, but the meeting turns out a disaster when they learn that King is innocent and Maddy starts shooting at King left, right and center for flirting with another girl.

While waiting for him at his office to discuss details of the meeting, Raj and Vikram, along with Yogi, finally figure out in a sudden fit of musical epiphany that Kishan was in on the scam, double-crossing the three men while playing for their wives, posing as Sanjana’s boyfriend, Shivani’s “brother”, and Maya’s “friend”, having lured them to King’s lair out of intent. Sanjana disrupts a fight about to break between the four after Kishan arrives to find himself exposed. Assuming her to be openly in league and love with Kishan, Raj demands a divorce from Sanjana, and a shocked Kishan, in the next few days, manages to convince a crying Sanjana for marriage. However, while trying to invite the trio, Kishan is mistaken as the groom-to-be, and they, drunk, are arrested for smashing a police officer’s head.

While in the cell, Raj rues about Sanjana and contemplates deceiving her, when he, Vikram and Yogi are bailed out by an injured King. Raj is in fury and decides to kill Kishan, for which King has his henchman Benny give him a gun. Raj succeeds, but when Sanjana confronts him, it turns out that the assembly of people was for the couple’s remarriage. However, Kishan reveals himself to be alive, giving the wives relief, with King and Maddy showing up, as Kishan had arranged for their bail. Seeing his dedication, the wives, and Sanjana’s mother and sister, ask Kishan about his reason for helping Sanjana way too personally, something which is unexpected of a professional of his kind. Kishan then reveals that his wife Divya once walked in on him cheating on her and committed suicide by slitting her wrist. Feeling guilty and breaking down, he set off on a mission to help aggrieved ladies of his wife’s kind in order to redeem himself. However, it was with Sanjana that he saw a reflection of his wife in her, and decided to help her by any means necessary.

Avantika Ahuja a psychology professor living in the United States, returns to Delhi after her father (Akash Khurana) falls ill. While in Delhi, she meets Ehsaan Khan (Saif Ali Khan), a university professor from Mumbai; the two become friends and fall in love. Avantika receives an intimation to return to work in the United States. Ehsaan readily agrees to emigrate for her. The couple are married and living in America. Avantika helps Ehsaan in getting a job, and he is appointed as a professor to teach “Islam and the Modern World” at the same university. The pair live a happy life in a quiet suburb populated by many South Asian families.

Salma (Nauheed Cyrusi), Avantika’s neighbour, is effectively being confined in her own home by her husband, Hakil. She manages to inform Avantika about her situation of house arrest and requests her to contact Rehana (Dia Mirza), a friend and TV reporter. Avantika meets with Rehana and her boyfriend Riyaz (Vivek Oberoi), a Muslim American journalist who has just arrived from Iraq. They discuss Salma’s problem to conclude that Salma is probably the victim of domestic violence. Rehana plans a meeting with Salma, but is unable to meet her since she is leaving for Iraq, as part of a United Nations envoy.

Meanwhile, Avantika is overjoyed when she finds out that she is pregnant. While waiting for Ehsaan, she takes a walk around her street close to her home. Overhearing voices, she decides to investigate and finds out that a group of men from her neighborhood, led by the family elder Bhaijaan (Om Puri), are planning a mission. They aim to bomb the plane that Rehana is travelling in, since it is carrying a large group of diplomats and media personnel. Avantika realises they are part of a terrorist group and also comes across Salma’s dead body. The men see her and chase her to her house, where she meets Ehsaan. At first, he consoles her, but soon reveals that he is also a part of the terrorist group. Avantika realizes that she is nothing but a pawn in Ehsaan’s game – he married her to legitimately obtain residency in the United States.

Bhaijaan asks Ehsaan to kill Avantika since she is now a liability, but after learning that she is pregnant, Ehsaan decides not to. Ehsaan keeps Avantika captive in their home and threatens to kill her father in India if she tries to inform anyone of what she knows. Avantika manages to make a phone call, and calls Rehana in order to warn her. The call goes to voice mail, and it is too late; Rehana has already boarded the flight, and the bomb has already been planted. The plane explodes, killing Rehana and all others on board.

A heartbroken Riyaz finds Avantika’s voice message for Rehana, and begins his own quest to uncover the real culprits behind the flight bombing. Going undercover, Riyaz joins Ehsaan’s lectures and soon befriends him. Avantika and the other wives of the group are watched over by Aapa (Kirron Kher), Bhaijaan’s wife. Aapa explains the reasons for Jihad to Avantika, and also reveals that Ehsaan was an Afghani man with no political ideology, until his first wife and son were killed by American bombs. Riyaz engages in a passionate debate with other students regarding the topic of Islam, and Ehsaan is impressed. While trying to dispose of Salma’s decomposing body, Hakil and Ehsaan attract the attention of the police. Ehsaan kills Hakil and the surrounding policemen, and sets the car on fire. Salma’s partially burnt body is found, and the FBI distributes pictures of her in order to learn her identity.

Ehsaan finds Riyaz to be a perfect replacement for Hakil. He introduces him to Bhaijaan, who is initially suspicious of the new recruit. He tests Riyaz by ordering him to shoot at a random man serving at a fast food counter. Riyaz is reluctant but follows through; however, it turns out there was no bullet in the gun, thus leaving the man unharmed. Having passed the test, Ehsaan makes Riyaz a part of their next mission to bomb several subway stations in New York.

Riyaz and Avantika begin to work together to foil the plan and bring down the terrorist group. Riyaz sets up a meeting with the FBI for the next day, but his plan is derailed when one of the men sees Salma’s picture, and Bhaijaan decides to bring the date of the mission forward.

At the hospital, Shiva realizes that the railway station woman is, in fact, a real police officer, Inspector Razia Khan. The officers tell Shiva that the man who looks like him is Assistant supridendent Vikram Singh Rathod, a disciplined and respected police officer.

The officers narrate the whole incident to Shiva. Six months ago, Vikram traveled to a village called Devgarh as the new ASP. There, a goon called Baapji (Nassar) and his son Munna (Amit Tiwari) caused trouble, torture, and annex money from the villagers. Vikram immediately arrested Munna by force for raping Vishal’s wife, but he was released because of Baapji’s political influence. Baapji arranged a party celebrating Munna’s release. At the party, Munna humiliated the police officers and made them pull their pants down. Vikram, being the next target, moved back to the balcony, where Munna slipped off and died in the process. The next day, Vikram got attacked by Baapji’s brother Titla (Supreeth Reddy), where he was stabbed in the back while the people were celebrating Munna’s death and shot in the head while trying to save a village child. He was then assumed to be dead. While the police officers were getting ready to bury him, he started breathing, having survived. Everybody promised not to disclose this to anyone. The officers then took Vikram to Mumbai for treatment.

After Shiva hears the whole story, the doctors say that Vikram doesn’t have much time left. Vikram requests Shiva to take care of Chinki. Shiva promises and says that Chinki is now his daughter. Vikram dies holding Shiva’s hand.

Shiva vows to complete Vikram’s unfinished work. He takes on Vikram’s identity and goes to Devgarh with Chinki to take revenge. He sets Baabji’s liquor factory on fire and distributes the grains and money back to the villagers. Paro finds out the truth, reconciles with him, and vows that she will also take care of Chinki. In a heavy climax, Shiva eventually kills Baapji and Titla, and rescues Paro and Chinki after they are kidnapped by Baapji and Titla. The people of Devgarh are now safe. Shiva marries Paro and starts his new life as a police officer with her, Chinki, Razia, Vishal, and 2G.

Jeetu (Shahid Kapoor), the son of retired teacher Jaidev Prasad (Anupam Kher), is constantly getting himself and his father into trouble because of his inability to properly manage money and has run many failed businesses. Plunging them both into debt, Jeetu breaks off his engagement with his promised fiancé, Pooja (Sushma Reddy) and decides to commit suicide by throwing himself into the sea. Jeetu thinks that by killing himself, he can do something right for once since his father can use the money from his life insurance to pay off his debts. However, it does not go as planned and Jeetu is found tangled in some nets by a pair of fishermen, Gundya (Paresh Rawal) and Bandya (Rajpal Yadav).

Gundya owes money to a Gujarati businessman, Prabhat Singh Chauhan (Om Puri). They find a note containing people’s names with the amount written next to the name in Jeetu’s pocket, which makes them mistakenly think Jeetu is rich and has lent money to these people, rather than in debt. Jeetu does not want to reveal too much, and therefore pretends to be mute and deaf. Back home, Jeetu’s family is denied insurance, stating unconfirmed death (owing to a lack of body), putting them in a difficult situation of repaying Jeetu’s debts.

Prabhat takes away Gundya’s boat, the only source of Gundya’s income so that he pays back the money he owes him. The two fishermen visit Prabhat’s house to request back their boat, only to be asked by Prabhat to leave something of value in return as a guarantee. Gundya cunningly makes Prabhat believe that Jeetu is his loving nephew and leaves both Jeetu and Bandya as the guarantee.

Later, it is revealed that Prabhat’s niece Shruti (Kareena Kapoor) is mute too, but not deaf. Her overprotective brother Mangal (Sunil Shetty) wants her to get married, however, her muteness makes her an undesirable match. One night, Jeetu gets drunk, and begins to sing but is caught by Shruti and her cousin Meenakshi (Neha Dhupia) who hear him (and consequently learn of his secret). They promise to keep his secret but in return, he must do something for Shruti. A greedy bridegroom is interested in marrying Shruti only for her wealth; so Meenakshi tricks Jeetu into pretending to be Shruti’s lover, which eventually results in the marriage being broken off. Mangal arrives and finds Jeetu with a love note for Shruti that Meenakshi wrote. Not realising Jeetu is pretending to be mute and deaf, Mangal attacks him and only stops upon being told of Jeetu’s supposed disability. Regretful, Mangal gives Jeetu a job in his business and Prabhat extends Gundya’s loan time.

Meenakshi finds out that Jeetu is in debt and she begins to distrust him after learning about the troubles his debts are causing his family. Jeetu eventually finds out that since his body has not been found, his family is still being hassled for his debts as the insurers have not paid. Jeetu is involved in a car crash with Prabhat who, at the time, was carrying a lot of money. Meenakshi tells the police about her suspicions and they beat Jeetu mercilessly. Her and Shruti’s views about him change however when Prabhat announces that Jeetu was the one that saved him and took him to hospital.

Inspector Jai (Ajay Devgn) is an upright and fearless cop who is given the job to take down the criminal empire of Raj Solanki (Naseeruddin Shah). Jai and his accomplice Inspector Sandhya (Juhi Chawla), who also happens to be his love, start taking down Raj’s empire with gusto. But Raj’s cronies and benefactors are not the only ones to be upset by this.

Raj has problems of his own. He does not want his son (Deepak Tijori) to turn into a criminal like him. Raj is also aware of his minion’s (Gulshan Grover) discontent; he wants to start many criminal activities that even Raj will not do. Raj tries to stop Jai without applying pressure or brutality, only to meet Jai’s mother (Reema Lagoo) and realize that Jai is his son. Now Raj finds himself in a real tight spot.

Jai’s mother does not like Jai trying to take down Raj, but Jai is determined. After some time, Jai learns about his relationship with Raj, but continues his job nonetheless. Raj’s legitimate son and his minion try to take down Jai individually, without knowing the secret.

An older Khan returns to Bombay to kill Rawal, who opposed his ambition to take the reins in Bombay. Although the city was his first love, rising starlet Jasmine wins his heart. Khan advances Jasmine’s career by rigging awards, and showers her with gifts; he becomes obsessed with her. He sends Aslam and another trustworthy aide, Jimmy, to kill Rawal. Jimmy fails, accidentally killing his girlfriend, Mona, and flees. He is soon captured by the police, hot on Khan’s trail after learning about his arrival in Bombay. Jimmy, loyal to Khan, does not crack during his interrogation and is freed due to lack of evidence. The police intend to draw Khan out from hiding; he has eluded them for twelve years, and this is their last chance to take him on Indian soil.

Khan, suspicious that Jimmy has become a police informer, decides to kill him but Aslam offers to do the deed to deflect police attention. He, Dedh Tang and several thugs masquerade as rival biker gangs and stage a brawl. Plain-clothes police officers try to control the chaos when Aslam corners Jimmy. When a police officer stops Aslam, Khan appears out of nowhere, murders Jimmy and injures the policeman. A chase ensues; the police fail to catch the two, who escape in Khan’s Mercedes.

Although Khan has bought Jasmine a house, she rejects his advances, saying that she has never seen him as being more than a friend. Angry and disappointed, Khan slaps her and tells her to leave. He angrily destroys the set of the film she is cast in, leaving with her a twenty-four-hour deadline to accept his proposal. Jasmine returns home to see that Khan has filled her house with expensive presents. Her mother is taken aback when Jasmine explains that Khan is a gangster with whom she’d prefer not to associate. Her family questions the sense in rejecting a man as powerful and dangerous as Khan.

Later in the night, Jasmine meets Aslam at his uncle’s restaurant. He tries to explain his love for her, only to be interrupted and told that she is engaged and the two should stop seeing one another. Dejected and disappointed, Aslam meets with Khan, who seems unusually pensive. The two lament their relationships, not knowing they are both in love with the same woman. Just before Khan is about to reveal the name of his romantic interest, a phone rings – Khan, jubilant, announces that his proposal has been accepted and orders Aslam to pick up his new “bhabhi,” or sister-in-law.

Aslam arrives at the address Khan has given him and, much to his shock, sees Jasmine walking towards his car. Initially angry that he is still following her, the two realise that they have been caught up in a complicated affair – that Aslam, unbeknownst to Jasmine, works for Khan, and that Jasmine was the one he had been sent to pick up. Before either can speak, a car containing Rawal and his henchmen arrives at a distance. Rawal shoots Jasmine, having learned of her relationship with Khan and hoping that hurting her lure the gangster into a vulnerable position.

Jasmine remains unconscious at the hospital as Khan arrives. He accuses Aslam of being in love with his fiancée – an accusation which Aslam denies as Khan reveals in an attempt to pacify Aslam that he has masterminded a plan to murder Rawal and ensure his own dominance over the Mumbai underworld. Khan intends to fabricate a story of him feuding with Aslam to tempt Rawal and his rivals into contacting Aslam. The “news” reaches Rawal, who seems delighted at the prospect of being able to turn Khan’s right-hand man against him.

Set in 1983, the story begins with Ravi (Ajay Devgn) winning a fighting competition at a club. He is known as (courageous man). He then goes to Ramnagar village, where he meets his mother, Savitri (Zarina Wahab), and his younger sister, Padma , who are living a miserable life.

Ravi’s mother Savitri, tells Ravi that Ravi’s father (Anil Dhawan) was an honest and respected man, and he was the priest of the temple. His father was framed by Sher Singh (Mahesh Manjrekar), the tyrant zamindar (landlord), for robbing the temple since the latter saw him commit a murder. Disgusted, Ravi’s father committed suicide. In revenge, young Ravi tried to kill Sher Singh but failed. When Ravi’s house is burnt, Savitri tells him to run away as Sher Singh will kill him.

With revenge in his mind, Ravi beats up Narayan Das (Paresh Rawal), Sher Singh’s manager and brother-in-law, as well as threatening Sher Singh. The next day, he publicly humiliates Sher Singh’s daughter, Rekha (Tamannaah), because she was beating up her innocent driver. In response, Rekha unleashes a tiger on the village in front of Ravi. Her plan was unsuccessful, however, as it backfired. Rekha falls down from the terrace and is about to be attacked by the animal when Ravi jumps and saves her life. Rekha falls in love with Ravi, and afterward, saves Ravi’s life against her father Sher Singh’s plans.

On the other hand, Ravi comes to know that Padma is in love with Shakti (Adhyayan Suman), Narayan Das’s son. He has his objections, and so has Narayan. However, Sher Singh tells Narayan Das that marrying Shakti with Padma would give them an upper hand over Ravi as they can ill-treat Padma and keep Ravi in control. Meanwhile, Padma now knows that Ravi, who is living with her, is not the real Ravi (Riteish Deshmukh), and Ravi died in a road accident. Before dying, the real Ravi asked him to take care of his family. Padma is initially upset but then reconciles after Ravi saves her life.
