When Anita Rajan, CEO of Sheppard power plant, an international Company, brings a power plant proposal to set up in rural Maharashtra before the Nagres, insightful Shankar is quick to realize the benefits the power plant can bring to the people. After convincing Sarkar who is against it for various reasons, Shankar undertakes a journey along with Anita to the villages of Maharashtra to mobilize support from the masses. However, things are not what they seem to be and Shankar’s dream project gradually becomes a political minefield. It is in this backdrop the evil forces mightier than ever, mushroom and gang up to bring down the regime of Sarkar and obliterate Shankar’s name from the political horizon.

Abbas Ali (Abhishek Bachchan) lives in Chandni Chowk with his sister Sania (Asin Thottumkal). When their ancestral property is taken from them by deception, Abbas loses his job. Their family friend, Shastri (Asrani), convinces them to move to his village, Ranakpur, where he assures Abbas that he will get him a job at his boss, Prithviraj Raghuvanshis (Ajay Devgn), place. Pritvhiraj is a powerful but kind-hearted man who hates lies and liars, and punishes them harshly. Abbas and Sania arrive at Ranakpur and meet Abbass friend Ravi (Krishna Abhishek), Shastris son, who runs a drama company with his friends.
Abbas learns that there is a temple at the border of Ranakpur and Kherwada, the village where Prithvirajs cousin Vikrant Raghuvanshi is powerful. The two cousins are archenemies. The temple, being at the border of the two villages, was disputed and has been locked for years.The plot begins when a child falls into the well of the temple and Abbas breaks the temples lock to save the child. When Prithviraj arrives at the scene, Ravi says Abbass name as Abhishek Bachchan to avoid religious controversies of a temple being broken open by a Muslim.
Prithviraj hires Abhishek Bachchan (Abbas) and is happy with his work, but Ravi and his friends have to come up with a new plan when Prithviraj spots Abbas celebrating Eid as a Muslim. Abbas and the others convince Prithviraj that the one celebrating Eid was actually Abbas, an effeminate man and classical Kathak dancer. Things become worse for Abbas and Ravi when Prithviraj kindly hires Abbas for teaching Kathak to his sister Radhika (Prachi Desai). The more Abbas tries to manage his dual life without letting Prithviraj know, the more he has to lie to cover up other lies; this forms the crux of the story. The movie ends with a climatic cliff scene where both Abbas and Pritihviraj make up after a series of lies.

Roopa lives in a chawl in a slum with her alcoholic paternal uncle, who sits at home and forces her to go out to work, earn and buy alcohol for him. Her outlook on life is close to despair, and when she finds no work, earns no money, she is severely beaten by him and thrown out of the room. On one such occasion, a neighbor named Raj comes to her aid and even loans her some money. But that only lasts for a short while, and she is back to square one again. She decides to kill herself, but is rescued by an artiste named Ashok, who asks her to model for him. Soon they become fast friends, she even moves into his palatial home, and both earn quite a bit of money from selling the paintings. Then one day Raj re-enters her life, and it was as though her past had come to re-visit. She longed to be with Raj. Ashok is unhappy because of the competition, as he is in love with Roopa and would like to marry her. Roopa decides in favor of Raj and decides to run away with him, little knowing that Raj is only interested in her newly acquired wealth, which he intends to procure by hook or by crook, to repay his debts to a gangster named Advani. Synopsis-
Nam Nadu throws light on the contemporary political scenario in the State and the need to cleanse the system. In brief, it is about a youth, who goes on to become a State Minister with a mission to render good governance.
The emotional drama between a father and son forms the backdrop. Ramnarayan (Nasser), the corrupt Education Minister wants to become the Chief Minister. With his son-in-laws Sathya and Ilamaran (Saran Raj and Ponvannan), an IPS & IAS officer respectively, he tries all means to disturb peace in the State and end up becoming the Chief Minister.
But the father meets his match in the son Mukul (Sarath Kumar). A honest youth wing leader of the ruling party, Mukul opposes his father.
Realizing that he should be in power to take on is father, Mukul contests elections against his father. He defeats his father and eventually becomes the Home Minister.
How he goes to cleanse the system forms the crux.
