Krrish (Hindi pronunciation: [krɪʃ]) is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language superhero film directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. It stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra while Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Manini Mishra, Archana Puran Singh and Sharat Saxena feature in supporting roles. It is the second installment in the Krrish franchise, being the sequel to Koi… Mil Gaya, and relates the story of Krishna, the son of the previous film’s protagonists, who inherits his father’s superhuman abilities. After falling in love with Priya, he follows her to Singapore, where he takes on the persona of “Krrish” to keep his identity secret while saving children from a burning circus. From that moment on, he is regarded as a superhero, and must later thwart the plans of the evil Dr. Arya, who has a connection to Krishna’s father, Rohit, the protagonist of the previous film.

Krrish was conceived to be a film of global significance and a trendsetter in Indian cinema, with visual effects on par with those from Hollywood. To that end, the effects team was aided by Hollywood’s Marc Kolbe and Craig Mumma, and the stunts were choreographed by Chinese martial arts film expert Tony Ching. The music was composed by Rajesh Roshan, with the background score by Salim-Sulaiman. Filming was done to a large extent in Singapore as well as India.

The film was released worldwide on 23 June 2006 at a budget of ₹40 crore[1] and on 1000 prints, both near-record amounts for an Indian film at the time. Krrish received mixed reviews from critics in India, but got a record opening week at the box office. A blockbuster, Krrish grossed a worldwide total of ₹126 crore,[2] becoming the third highest-grossing Indian film of 2006.

Krrish received 8 nominations at the 52nd Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor for Roshan and Best Supporting Actress for Rekha, and won 3, including Best Special Effects. At the 2007 IIFA Awards, the film received 9 nominations and won 3, including Best Actor for Roshan. It also won the National Film Award for Best Special Effects. The third film in the series, Krrish 3 was released in 2013.

Krrish was the first Indian film to be shot in Singapore under the Singapore Tourism Board’s Film-in-Singapore subsidy scheme, and over 60% of the film was shot there.[15] Shooting was accomplished on location over a span of 2 months, from September to November 2005.[16] Locations featured included the Singapore Zoo, the Gateway building, and the Singapore National Library.[17] Another major filming location was Robinson Road, where heavy rains caused production delays.[18] The Singapore police were on location to block roads and protect the filming equipment,[18] such as when the film’s action scenes required two 250-foot high industrial cranes.[13] Author Audrey Yue noted that the film shoot benefited Singapore by leading to domestic and Indian film-induced tourism.[15]

Filming also took place in Manali and Film City in Mumbai.[19] During filming of a flying stunt, one of the wires that was tied to Hrithik Roshan broke, causing him to fall 50 feet, though he landed safely on a shop’s canopy.[20] Hrithik described the incident as a “freak accident”, stating, “I was skydiving to my death till I fell on a six-feet-long canopy of a shop that was out because of the slight drizzle. The canopy had iron rods. But I missed those rods too. What do I say? I guess the right word to describe the situation would be jadoo (magic).”[20] Roshan also suffered other injuries during the film’s production. He tore the hamstring in his right leg during a circus scene, singed his hair while running through fire in another action scene, and broke his thumb and toe during strenuous training for the wirework.[21]

Ghajini is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss, jointly produced by Allu Aravind, Tagore Madhu and Madhu Mantena. A remake of Murugadoss’s own 2005 Tamil film of the same name which in turn is inspired by the 2000 film Memento and 1951 British film Happy Go Lovely.[5][6] It stars Aamir Khan, Asin reprising her original role in her Hindi film debut, Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat, co-starring Tinnu Anand, Sunil Grover, Khalid Siddiqui and Riyaz Khan. The score and soundtrack were composed by A. R. Rahman, while Aamir co-wrote an altered climax.[7] Murugadoss, had written half of the film’s story when he watched Memento, and claimed to merely use the character due to his short term memory loss condition.[8] In the film, a businessman suffering from anterograde amnesia sets out to avenge his girlfriend with the aid of photographs from a Polaroid Instant camera and permanent tattoos on his body.[9]

Released theatrically on 25 December 2008, Ghajini became the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, and the first Bollywood film to cross the ₹100 crore mark domestically, creating the 100 Crore Club.[10] Ghajini’s paid preview collections were ₹ 27 million.[11] It went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, until it was surpassed by Aamir’s next, 3 idiots (2009), the following year and then by Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express (2013). Aamir’s character was featured in a 3D video game titled Ghajini – The Game, which is based on the film.[12] Suriya, who played the protagonist in the Tamil original, lauded the film and found it an overall better version.[13]

Khan found a force of his own kind with Ghajini, as he followed it up with back to back record grossers and helped the industry touch new business benchmarks with films like 3 Idiots (2009), Dhoom 3 (2013), PK (2014) & Dangal (2016).[14]
Aamir Khan as Sanjay Singhania / Sachin Chauhan, a rich businessman; the chairman of a mobile phone company, Air Voice; who later suffers from short-term memory loss after a tragic incident caused by Ghajini, being solely motivated, thus, to kill him and his cohorts
Asin as Kalpana Shetty, a model who gains publicity by falsely proclaiming herself to be the girlfriend of Sanjay Singhania, but soon becomes his love interest, later getting killed by Ghajini
Khalid Siddiqui as Pankaj Shroff, Sanjay’s private assistant and an Air Voice manager
Jiah Khan as Sunita, a medical student, who tries to study the case of Sanjay Singhania and his amnesiac problem, even though she is forbidden to do so
Pradeep Rawat as Ghajini Dharmatma, a gang honcho and the mastermind of many illegal and criminal ventures who is targeted by Sanjay
Riyaz Khan as Inspector Arjun Yadav, a police inspector who is investigating the murders Sanjay committed (voiceover by Rajesh Khattar)
Tinnu Anand as Satveer Kohli, Kalpana’s boss
Sai Tamhankar as Sunita’s friend
Supreeth Reddy as Ghajini’s Henchman
Vibha Chibber as Havaldar Vijyanti
Sunil Grover as Sampat, a model who is being trained as the fake Sanjay Singhania
Rajendran as Ghajini’s henchman
Firdausi Jussawalla as Dr. Peston Wadia
Rahul Pendkalkar as Rahul (cameo)
Diya Sonecha as Pooja (cameo)
Sonal Sehgal as ad model
Anjum Rajabali in a cameo appearance as Dr. Debkumar Mitra, Sunita’s professor
It was rumoured earlier that the film was titled Kajri.[15] It is a remake of the Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). Aamir Khan, who had never before made a remake film in his career,[16] was initially hesitant to do the film, but was convinced by Suriya, the original star of the Tamil Ghajini, who told him he was “the only one who could do justice to the character.”[17] Suriya was a fan of Khan, and had some involvement in the film’s development, discussing minute details with Khan for two years during the film’s development.[16] Priyanka Chopra was offered a lead role in the film, but turned down the part because of scheduling conflicts.[18]

Khan was involved in the film’s creative writing process, deciding what should remain from the original Tamil Ghajini and what changes should be made. Murugadoss revealed that the altered climax of the film was rewritten by Khan. According to Murugadoss:[7]

We didn’t make too many changes in the rest of the film. Every time I’d suggest a change in Ghajini from the original, Aamir would firmly cut it down, saying we should stick to the Tamil script. But he decided we should rewrite the climax. The entire location, incidents and dialogue for the climax were re-written by Aamir. I think the Hindi version is far better than the Tamil Ghajini because of the changes Aamir made.

Himmatwala (transl. The brave one) is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film written and directed by Sajid Khan and jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani. The film features Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah in the lead roles. Set in 1983, it is an official remake of 1983 film of the same name by K. Raghavendra Rao, which was, in turn, a remake of the 1981 Telugu film Ooruki Monagadu. The film was released on 29 March 2013.[3][4] The film marks Tamannaah’s comeback to Bollywood after she debuted in the 2005 film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. On release, it was universally panned by critics and audiences alike for its story, dialogues, humor, direction, logic, screenplay, and acting, and has even been cited as one of the worst Bollywood movies ever.Set in 1983, the story begins with Ravi (Ajay Devgn) winning a fighting competition at a club. He is known as Himmatwala (courageous man). He then goes to Ramnagar village, where he meets his mother, Savitri (Zarina Wahab), and his younger sister, Padma (Leena Jumani), who are living a miserable life.

Ravi’s mother Savitri, tells Ravi that Ravi’s father (Anil Dhawan) was an honest and respected man, and he was the priest of the temple. His father was framed by Sher Singh (Mahesh Manjrekar), the tyrant zamindar (landlord), for robbing the temple since the latter saw him commit a murder. Disgusted, Ravi’s father committed suicide. In revenge, young Ravi tried to kill Sher Singh but failed. When Ravi’s house is burnt, Savitri tells him to run away as Sher Singh will kill him.

With revenge in his mind, Ravi beats up Narayan Das (Paresh Rawal), Sher Singh’s manager and brother-in-law, as well as threatening Sher Singh. The next day, he publicly humiliates Sher Singh’s daughter, Rekha (Tamannaah), because she was beating up her innocent driver. In response, Rekha unleashes a tiger on the village in front of Ravi. Her plan was unsuccessful, however, as it backfired. Rekha falls down from the terrace and is about to be attacked by the animal when Ravi jumps and saves her life. Rekha falls in love with Ravi, and afterward, saves Ravi’s life against her father Sher Singh’s plans.

On the other hand, Ravi comes to know that Padma is in love with Shakti (Adhyayan Suman), Narayan Das’s son. He has his objections, and so has Narayan. However, Sher Singh tells Narayan Das that marrying Shakti with Padma would give them an upper hand over Ravi as they can ill-treat Padma and keep Ravi in control. Meanwhile, Padma now knows that Ravi, who is living with her, is not the real Ravi (Riteish Deshmukh), and Ravi died in a road accident. Before dying, the real Ravi asked him to take care of his family. Padma is initially upset but then reconciles after Ravi saves her life.

Shortly after Padma and Shakti get married, both the father and son start ill-treating Padma. In revenge, Ravi uses Rekha against her own father, just like what she advises him. After Rekha tells her father, Sher Singh, that she is pregnant with Ravi’s child, Sher Singh begs Ravi to marry Rekha. Eventually, Ravi punished Narayan Das and Shakti by doing all the household chores. He also wins the Sarpanch election, and Sher Singh finally gives all the property documents back to the villagers, which Sher Singh had illegally taken from them before.

PK (transl. Tipsy; Hindi pronunciation: [pɪjəkːəɽ]) is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language science fiction comedy-drama film[c] directed by Rajkumar Hirani and written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. It was jointly produced by Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the banners Rajkumar Hirani Films and Vinod Chopra Films respectively. Mohenjo Daro is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language period action-adventure film[4] written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.[5][6][7] It is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur for UTV Motion Pictures and Sunita Gowariker for Ashutosh Gowariker Productions (AGPPL),[8] and features Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. It is a cinematic presentation based on the ancient Indus Valley civilization,[9] and its city Mohenjo-daro, a UNESCO World Heritage site.[10]

Set in 2016 BC at the height of Indus Valley Civilization,[11][12] the story follows a farmer Sarman (Hrithik Roshan) who travels to the city of Mohenjo Daro and falls in love with a high-status woman (Hegde), and who must then challenge the city’s elite, and fight against overwhelming odds to save their civilization. Gowariker took over three years to research and develop the script, working closely with archaeologists to ensure authenticity in the representation of his fictional story.[13] The film was shot in Bhuj and Mumbai with brief schedules in Bhedaghat (Jabalpur) and Thane.

The score and soundtrack are composed by A. R. Rahman[14] with lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar.[15] The film was released worldwide on 12 August 2016 to generally mixed or negative reviews from critics,[16][17][18][19] and is considered to be a major box office flop.[20]

Mohenjo Daro marks the last film production of UTV Motion Pictures, as after the film, there are only two Disney releases, Dangal and Jagga Jasoos, which marked producer Kapur’s final projects under Disney-UTV before his contract with the company lapsed on 1 January 2017.

The film opens in 2016 BCE with Sarman (Hrithik Roshan), a young man from the village of Amri, who lost his parents at a young age. Sarman kills a crocodile that has been terrorizing his village’s fishermen and is hailed as a hero. He asks his uncle, Durjan (Nitish Bharadwaj), to allow him to go to Mohenjo Daro to trade their family’s goods, but his uncle refuses. Sarman attempts to sneak away to the city at night with his friend Hojo (Umang Vyas), but is caught by Durjan, who relents and allows both friends to go. He gives Sarman a seal that contains an inscription of a unicorn that Sarman often sees in his dreams, suggesting he use it only once in a life or death situation.

Arriving in Mohenjo Daro, Sarman learns that the city is ruled by the tyrannical Senate Chief Maham (Kabir Bedi) and his wicked son Moonja (Arunoday Singh). He also learns that the unicorn he sees in his dreams is the symbol of the city, and feels as if the city is oddly familiar to him. While Sarman is trading, Maham proposes to impose an additional tax on the farmers so that the city may grow, but Sarman leads the farmers to oppose the taxes so that their families don’t starve to death. Sarman gains access to the upper city by showing his uncle’s amulet and meets Chaani (Pooja Hegde), the elegant and gorgeous daughter of the head priest (Manish Choudhary) Mohenjo Daro. Sarman is enchanted by Chaani’s heavenly beauty and charm and falls in love with her. Upon meeting, the head priest strangely appears to recognize Sarman. Chaani reveals that she has been forcibly betrothed to Moonja, Sarman’s enemy, who is cruel and ruthless. Maham discovers Sarman and Chaani love each other and that Sarman is the leader of the tax revolt, and so he challenges Sarman to fight Bakar and Zokhar, his two champions. Sarman proposes that if he wins, Chaani will be released from her engagement, and Maham accepts the terms.

The head priest reveals to Sarman how Maham was expelled from Harappa for illegal trade with the Sumerians.

Dr. Shaina Mehra is a psychiatrist living in Warsaw, Poland. Her father Brijesh brings a marriage proposal and asks her to meet police officer Himanshu Tyagi. The two meet in a train, where Shaina reveals she had an ex-boyfriend Devi Lal Singh, and talks about her crazy experiences with him.

Past: Devi is intelligent and adventurous always looking for a “kick” in his life. Shaina helps her friend, Vidhi elope with Devi’s friend, Vanchit. Devi gets them married in a temple, but also helps Vidhi’s mother reach the temple for “kick”. Shaina meets Devi’s family; the two date and fall in love. On her suggestion, Devi does a job in a chemical lab but resigns later suffering from lack of “kick”. Shaina scolds him, and Devi breaks up with her.

Himanshu shares his experiences with a thief he hates as he cannot stop him. The robber “Devil” targets the rich people associated with corrupt businessman Shiv Gajra, and robs them. Devil is actually Devi. As Himanshu fails in catching Devil, Devi contacts and refers to him as a partner and insults him by calling him a loser which is a clue that Devi gives Himanshu.

In Poland, Shaina spots Devi who is there for treatment after losing his memory in an accident. She offers to handle Devi’s case and take him home. In actuality, Devi is acting about his memory loss; real plan is to befriend and fool Himanshu and rob Shiv, who will come to Poland. Devi enters a charity function and robs Shiv, but Himanshu and Shaina discover Devi’s truth and he escapes.

Himanshu spots Devi and warns him he will be killed, but Devi says he will rob a huge party fund on 14 November. He dares Himanshu to kill him on the 14th, otherwise, Devi will be standing in front of him on 15 November and he won’t be able to do anything. In a flashback, Devi’s true intentions and good deeds are revealed by his father Ratan Lal.

He tells Shaina that Devi is committing robberies to help poor children who are battling diseases. Devi saved a girl, Jhumki after reading a letter in hands of her dead parents, and got the most powerful “kick” when she smiled at him. When a doctor tells him several children are battling diseases, he saves them by robbing them to get money for their treatments knowing that it will give a lot of “kick”.

On 14 November, after fighting Shiv’s henchmen, Devi kills him. Himanshu is set up with officers to shoot Devi, but kids block his shot. 14 November is Children’s Day, and the sick children are going to pray for Devi, after which Himanshu realizes the robberies were for the kids. On 15 November, Devi joins the police force to catch Devil.

He arrives at the police station and stands in front of Himanshu, who is unable to do anything about the situation, therefore completing his challenge. Himanshu is taken off of the case and it is given to Devi, who is now a police officer. Devi then thanks Himanshu, saying that he was never against him, but he is against the corrupt system.

Rowdy Rathore is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language action film[3] directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala under the UTV Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions banners. A remake of the 2006 Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu directed by S. S. Rajamouli, based on an original story written by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, it stars Akshay Kumar in double roles of a brave police officer and thief.[4] The film also features Sonakshi Sinha, Gurdeep Kohli, Yashpal Sharma and Paresh Ganatra in supporting roles, while Nassar portrays the main antagonist and Tamil actor Vijay makes a special appearance.[5]

Filmed primarily in Mumbai and Hampi on a budget of ₹180 crore,[6] Rowdy Rathore was released worldwide on 1 June 2012. Its music was composed by Sajid–Wajid.[7] It opened to extremely mixed reviews, but became one of the highest-grossing Indian films. The film was declared a blockbuster at the domestic and worldwide box office,[8] with worldwide earnings of over ₹218.39 crore (US$31 million).
Shivam “Shiva” Bhardwaj (Akshay Kumar) is a small-time thief in Mumbai who falls in love with Paro (Sonakshi Sinha) from Patna, after pinching her hip and caressing it, to which she squeals. He tells her the truth about being a thief and resolves to give up crime because he loves Paro dearly. Before that, he decides to commit a large robbery along with his con-friend 2G, which would enable him to earn a lot of money so he can give up the crime life. He also “tricks” a woman on a railway station and flees with a trunk. This leads Shiva to Chinki, a little girl who was in the trunk instead of the wealth he thought was there. Chinki thinks that he is her father. Puzzled, he is forced to keep Chinki with him, as a police officer Vishal Sharma (Yashpal Sharma) keeps his eye on him.

Shiva fears Paro will catch him with Chinki, and he will lose her forever. He finds a photo of Chinki and her father, who looks exactly like Shiva, thus realizing why Chinki thinks Shiva is her father. It is revealed that Chinki’s father is Vikram Singh Rathod ( Akshay Kumar ), a brave police officer who criminals fear. While chasing a goon to find his daughter, Vikram gets hit by an auto, and his brain endures severe trauma.

After a few days, Shiva gets fed up with Chinki and breaks the tape recorder she uses to listen to her late mother’s voice. The next morning, he learns that her mother died. Feeling guilty, he fixes the recorder and becomes fond of Chinki, taking care of her. Unfortunately, Paro sees this and believes he has a daughter that he hid from her, and Paro leaves for Patna heartbroken. Soon, the goons who are after Vikram see Shiva. Thinking he is Vikram, they start chasing him. Shiva and Chinki flee for their lives and encounter the woman from the railway station, who tells Shiva to run. Shiva is soon surrounded by the goons. It is revealed that Vikram is watching the whole thing from the top of a building. Just as Shiva is about to get stabbed, Vikram jumps down, killing one of the goons.

Shiva and the goons are shocked to see the identical-looking Vikram. Vikram locks Shiva and Chinki in a cell for safety and starts fighting the goons. His brain injury gets worse, but he eventually kills every goon by himself.

At the hospital, Shiva realizes that the railway station woman is, in fact, a real police officer, Inspector Razia Khan. The officers tell Shiva that the man who looks like him is Assistant supridendent Vikram Singh Rathod, a disciplined and respected police officer.

It is one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2011.[4] The film is alleged to be based on the 2008 South Korean film The Chaser, though Bhatt denied this and said that it was inspired from the 2006 Nithari killings in Noida.[5] The film is remembered for its erotic scenes. However, Arjun only lusts after Priya’s marvelous body and asks her to find someone else if she wants love, as Arjun can only have a no-strings attached relationship, and nothing else.

Arjun makes a deal with a gangster and pimp, Sameer (Shekhar Shukla), to solve the mystery of the unexplained disappearance of his prostitutes. While investigating, Arjun finds a phone number linked to the missing girls. He tells Sameer to send a prostitute to that number. Reshma is sent to the house of Dheeraj Pandey (Prashant Narayanan), who is actually a psychopathic murderer responsible for torturing and killing the missing hookers.
Arjun discovers that Dheeraj is the murderer and informs the police. While Dheeraj is held in jail, the commissioner calls a psychiatrist to extract his confession. Dheeraj tells the doctor that he kills women because he thinks they take advantage of men. Dheeraj is eventually released under Nirmala Pandit’s influence. Meanwhile, Reshma escapes from the well and tries to find her way out through the forest.

Arjun meets Dheeraj’s family, and the family reveals that Dheeraj used to beat his wife. Up next, he meets a private dancer, Sonia, who was also tortured by Dheeraj but managed to escape.

Hearing Reshma’s pleading cries, Arjun, tormented by her death and blaming himself for it, furiously kills Dheeraj, ending his reign of terror once and for all.
