From the recently released New Punjabi Movies, Aappan Pher Milange is a punjabi movie (2012) in which Gulab ( Gracy Singh) and Rajdeep ( Vishal Karwal), two college students, are deeply in love. Rajdeep wants to pursue his dreams of becoming a successful singer. Gulab who wants to marry Rajdeep goes back to her home after her exams, thinking her parents will give their consent. Her dreams, however, shatters when her parents fix her marriage with an NRI boy against her will as her family thinks the boy as their key to get settle in Canada.

Gulab’s NRI husband abandons pregnant Gulab and disappears. Gulab’s family denounces her for the fiasco. Gulab, in the wake of all the mishaps leaves for Canada for revenge and Rajdeep helps her. …..

This Punjabi Film tells a story of young hearts seeing each other and falling in love; this falling in love makes their life so different and beautiful. It shows the college life of students, their hostel life, the way they enjoy themselves in the college and the hard work they put in for their studies. Fellow students of Punjab University, Navdeep Singh (Jimmy Shergill) and Harman Kaur (Juhi Babbar), fall in love with each other. Both start to dream of a happy life together. But problems arise when they think of taking their parent’s consent before going any further. Harman’s father Col. Thakur Singh (Anupam Kher) is a typical Punjabi father with a big ego who does not appreciate the idea of his daughter selecting a groom herself. Deep’s Father, Retired Major Balwinder Singh Brar (Raj Babbar), also opposes this alliance, and wants his son to complete his studies before getting married. Balwinder subsequently changes his mind but wants Thakur to adapt to tradition and approach him – but Thakur refuses to do so. The couple then conspire with their fellow students and arrange for their parents to meet on neutral ground. It is this decision that will shatter and change their lives forever. Now both Navdeep and Harmaan are in a dilemma: neither can they go against their parents, nor can they live without each other. Sehaj’s father wants to marry her to anyone who offers lot of money as Sehaj posses permanent residence of Canada. Sehaj finds this and run away from home and goes to Kuku’s home(Gurpreet Ghuggi), whom they earlier met at Delhi Airport. After finding out that Sehaj has permanent residency of Canada, two of Kuku’s friend Deep and Jashan tries to woo Sehaj. Sehaj is confused between the two and finally choose Jashan. A local businessman is interested in buying Kuku’s family land. But Kuku is not interested so the businessman often sends hence henchman to threaten him. Kuku’s sister is school teacher and on a day is invited for lunch at fellow teacher’s home. She takes Anna along with her, where she finds the photograph of the man she is looking for. That man turns out to be husband of Kuku’s sister’s colleague Tarseem Singh (Binnu Dhillon). Kuku enlist Deep’s school time friend Vijay, a suspended cop. Vijay kidnaps Ujagar Singh, the in-charge cop of the area, who is also accomplice in businessman and Tarseem’s crimes. Vijay threatens Ujagar with life and gets the truth out of him.
