STORY: The film revolves around the lives of three friends-cum-petty crooks whose biggest crime is the fact that they reside in Mumbai’s notorious area, where nefarious activities of the organized-crime syndicates take shape.

MOVIE REVIEW: Along with fooling people, getting into altercations, fist-fights and wandering around aimlessly on the streets of Mumbai’s ‘high-risk’ areas, Fakeer (Ajaz Khan) dreams of becoming a taxi driver in Dubai, Chotu Mobile (Javed Hyder) wants to set up his own mobile shop and Sulaiman (Vicky Ahuja) aspires to become a politician. However, their destiny is determined by their controversial residential address instead of their desires.

The film is apparently based on real life incidents. Fakeer’s character is loosely based on Irfan Chindi, a resident of Nagpada, who reportedly became a police informer. He was stabbed to death on April 3, 2009.

Though the Mumbai underworld is used as a crucial backdrop for the film, it is essentially a tale of three friends, driven by unprovoked aggression. The Mumbai mafia becomes inconsequential as the film progresses.

While the underworld has always inspired filmmakers, films on police informers have been rare. Made with a humble budget, the film manages to showcase the dilemma of those who get caught between the cops and the gangsters. While most films in the same genre often sensationalize characters, Zubair Khan keeps it authentic. He justifies their anger, helplessness and vulnerability subtly. No time is wasted over building the characters. While it looks half-baked in the beginning, things fall into place perfectly towards the end.

Performances are effective. Ajaz Khan portrays every aspect of his character well. Sidekicks Javed Hyder and Vicky Ahuja deserve a special mention. They are brilliant. Aksshey Varma is impressive as the shrewd cop. Maarisha gets a small but significant role and she does it well.

Don’t go expecting deep insights into Mumbai’s dark underbelly as the film is essentially on friendship, survival and self discovery. The story is not about the rise or fall of a criminal, it’s about people who dream of a better future.

Synopsis:

Wealthy Anjali (Shilpa Shetty), is passionately in love with poor Dev (Sunil Shetty), both plans to get married. But Anjali’s family objects and instead get her married to equally wealthy Ram (Akshay Kumar), who lives with his uncaring step-mother and siblings. But Ram believes that one day his family will surely undergo a change of heart. But Anjali bypass her haunted memories of Dev and finally falls in love with Ram and will not leave him by any chance.

Prem Kapoor, an aspiring popstar, lives with his elder sister, Neelu, and brother-in-law, Vinod. Prem is in love with Nisha and both hope to marry soon. The wedding is planned, and preparations are made. On the day of the wedding, Nisha does not show up. When Prem asks for an explanation, Nisha tells him that she is marry a rich and wealthy young man from the U.S., who will be able to look after her and her ailing brother. Prem is devastated, which leads him to alcohol. This continues on, until Prem meets Priya Sharma, and falls in love with her. Before he could even propose marriage, Priya announces that she is getting married to a rich and wealthy young man from the U.S. named Rahul Puglia. In this manner Prem gets ditched for a second time and blames himself for not being rich enough, and takes to alcohol. But will alcohol resolve Prem’s situation and his heartache, or will he continue falling in love, and getting ditched over and over, again and again.

Synopsis:
It’s 1980 in the coastal town of Vasco. Two gangs fight for control of the streets: the Scorpions, led by Prakash (Sharad Kapoor), and the Eagles, fronted by Max (Shahrukh Khan). She is also the daughter of a lady don.Shankar defends the poor and fights the moneylenders. Several interesting battles follow, after which the Maya loses all her property and prestige. It is also revealed that she is not really the daughter of the lady don. She then learns a lesson that reforms her attitude. She makes amends and Shankar embraces her as the two fall in love. Shankar finally fights all the gangsters led by the lady don and brings an end to all the injustice being imposed on the poor. ———–

Synopsis:

The story of a bunch of misfits whose misconception about each others backgrounds end up in a series of chaotic, yet comic outcomes. Paresh Rawal’s wife thinks that he is having an affair with Rimi Sen & while Paresh Rawal thinks his wife is having an affair with Akshaye Khanna due to Rimi Sen and her having the same name. Then comes in Shakti Kapoor (Tejabhai alias Kachara Seth) whose daughter falls in love with a guy pretending to be Paresh Rawal’s son and soon everything gets out of control.
