Disney’s ABCD 2, also known as Any Body Can Dance 2, is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language dance film[2] directed by Remo D’Souza and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under Walt Disney Pictures. It’s a Stand-alone sequel to the 2013 film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, and the second film in the ABCD Franchise. The film stars Prabhu Deva, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Sushant Pujari, Raghav Juyal, Dharmesh Yelande, Punit Pathak and Lauren Gottlieb, and is partially inspired by the life account of Suresh Mukund and Vernon Monteiro, founders of the “fictitious dance crew” The Kings, who went on to win the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in San Diego.[3]

Being the only Indian film to be wholly owned by Walt Disney Pictures in India under its own brand, ABCD 2 was released by UTV Motion Pictures on 19 June 2015 in 3D, and was one of Disney’s first original musical films in the Indian market, with Sachin–Jigar composing the soundtrack and background score, while Mayur Puri wrote the dialogues and lyrics.[4][5] The decommissioned warship INS Vikrant was featured as a backdrop behind the dance group’s practice area during the first half of the film.[6]

ABCD 2 earned mixed to positive reviews, with praise for its production design, choreography, music and the performances of Deva, Dhawan and Kapoor, while criticism was aimed at its writing and length.

Tamasha (transl. Drama)[4] is a 2015 Indian romantic comedy-drama film[1] written and directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala from his studio, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. It features Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. The film score and soundtrack album were composed by A. R. Rahman, while lyrics for the songs were written by Irshad Kamil. Filmed briefly in Corsica, Indian cities–Shimla, Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata; followed by two-day schedule in Tokyo, the film tells the story of character Ved Vardhan Sahni (played by Kapoor) in three stages–as a 9-year-old child, a 19-year-old adolescent and a 30-year-old adult in a drama-based non-linear screenplay.

The film was released on 27 November 2015 to mixed reviews by film critics.[5] However, they widely praised the performances of lead actors but criticised the complexity of the plot. The film grossed ₹ 136 crore worldwide.[6][2][7] Over the years, the film has built a strong cult following, with viewers appreciating its deep writing, sheer complexity and message.[8][9][10] The film received nominations for direction, music and performances of the lead actors, notably Kapoor being nominated under the Filmfare Award for Best Actor category. Padukone won the Stardust Award for Best Actress and Irshad Kamil won the Filmfare Award for Best Lyrics for his lyrical work to the soundtrack album of the film.

Kick is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language action heist film produced and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, and starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.[4]

Kick is an official remake of a 2009 Telugu film released with same title, and has been made under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with UTV Motion Pictures on a reported budget of ₹100 crore (US$14 million).[5] Rajat Arora scripted the film, apart from giving screenplay alongside Nadiadwala, Chetan Bhagat and Keith Gomes. Released on 25 July 2014 coinciding with Eid, Kick grossed over ₹402 crore (US$56 million) worldwide becoming a blockbuster success and emerged as Khan’s first film to enter 200 Crore Cluband emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2014.[2] A sequel named Kick 2 with the same cast & crew goes on shooting floors in June 2022 and will release on Eid 2023.[1]

In a police van, Afaaque Baagwan listens to the story narrated by a gangster, Manya Surve, who is gravely injured with a bullet-riddled body.

Manya Surve is a decent student at Kirti college, Dadar. He is in love with Vidya Joshi and takes her to his mother to discuss their marriage.

Manya has an older brother named Bhargav Surve, who is a mawali (rowdy). Bhargav is in conflict with an underworld don named Bhatkar and is currently on the run. Soon enough, Bhargav is attacked and beaten up by Bhatkar’s goons. Manya steps in to save him. While Manya Surve clutches one of the goons, Bhargav stabs the goon, and he dies on the spot.

On the day of Manya’s exam results, before he can discover his grades, Manya and his brother are arrested, and Manya is publicly humiliated at college by Inspector Ambolkar and end up in Yerwada Central Jail. In prison, another convict named Munir saves Manya from being attacked by a goon named Potya during lunch time. During this assault, Bhargav is killed. Munir befriends Manya and another convict named Veera. Veera trains Manya to become stronger. Manya trains and then eventually is challenged by Potya. Potya attacks him from behind and beats Manya up, to which Manya responds by stabbing Potya to death.

Later on, both Manya and Munir escape from prison while they are working on a railway track and try to join hands with two brothers who rule Mumbai’s deals. The first brother, Zubair Imtiaz Haksar, is cool and is impressed by Manya. However, the second brother, Dilawar, disapproves of Manya and dislikes him. After this, Manya forms his own gang, which consists of him, Munir, Veera, and Gyancho, a sharpshooter brought by Munir. Soon enough, Manya finishes off Bhatkar (the gangster who had him and his brother arrested). Jamal, Bhatkar’s bodyguard, also joins them. Next, Manya brings Ambolkar to his knees by beating him brutally in public. The story next shows the death of Sadiq, an unscrupulous news reporter, by Mastan. This breaks a fight between the Haskar brothers and Mastan. Due to this, a truce is called by Haji Maqsood. The truce is short lived as Maqsood asks Manya Surve to finish Zubair. After Zubair’s assassination, Dilawar kills Gyancho with the help of Jamal. He is about to kill Munir when Manya saves him. Later, Afaaque is asked to kill Manya by Dilawar. Even after his refusal, at first, he agrees when the police commissioner orders him to. The story comes to an end after the shootout and Manya’s killing by police.

Luka Chuppi (transl. Hide and seek) is a 2019 Indian romantic comedy film directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.[4] Set in Mathura, the story is about a television reporter who cohabits with his headstrong intern and chaos ensues when their traditional families assume them to be married to each other.[5] It stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles with Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Vinay Pathak and Alka Amin in supporting roles.[6][3] Written by Rohan Shankar, it was distributed by AA Films and Jio Studios.

Principal photography for the film began in August 2018 and was completed the following month; it released theatrically worldwide on 1 March 2019. It was a commercial success at the box office, with a total gross collection of ₹128.86 crore (US$18 million).[2][3]

Uday Shetty and Majnu Pandey end a life of crime and become honest businessmen, settling in Dubai after being duped by Uday’s brother-in-law Rajiv. Two conwomen from India, Poonam and Babita, pose as Maharani Padmavati and Rajkumari Chandni of Najafgarh in order to con Uday and Majnu of their money. Babita gains the attraction of the two men, thus getting them to finance herself and Poonam’s luxurious lifestyle. Later, it is revealed that Uday has another sister Ranjana from his father, Shankar Shetty’s third marriage and Majnu and Uday are emotionally blackmailed by Shankar into arranging the marriage of Ranjana and are also forced to do so as Poonam makes it one of her conditions for getting Babita married to either one of them.

The film then shifts to Rajiv’s uncle, Dr. Ghunguroo, who has found out that he has a step son named Ajju from his wife’s previous marriage that he was unaware. Unlike Rajiv, Ajju is a local goon of Mumbai, where Ranjana studies. Through a chain of hilarious events, they both fall in love with each other. Meanwhile, Majnu and Uday arrange the marriage of Ranjana with the step-son of Doctor Ghunguroo, not knowing that he is a goon. However, at the engagement ceremony, Majnu reveals the truth, causing Ajju to retaliate with a fight, threatening to marry Ranjana without any of the brothers’ consent.

Expecting to keep Ajju at bay, Uday and Majnu visit Wanted Bhai, who is an infamous blind don. They also return to their old, violent ways in order to kill Ajju. The brothers are shocked to find that Wanted Bhai’s son Honey likes Ranjana and would like to marry her. They decide to arrange the marriage of Ranjana to some other decent man, in order to sidestep Ajju as well as Wanted Bhai’s son. However, due to Ajju and Dr. Ghunguroo, who are in league with Babita and Poonam, they are caught by Wanted Bhai, who summons them to his island.

At the island, Ajju and Dr. Ghunguroo try to convince Honey that Honey no longer loves Ranjana and that Babita is his true love. Meanwhile, Uday and Majnu try to kill Ajju, but are frightened at the graveyard in a ghost act planned by Dr. Ghunguroo, Ajju and Ranjana. Unbeknownst to all of them, their activities have been recorded by CCTV camera, causing Wanted Bhai and Honey to plan to finish them off. However, in a hilarious climax scene, Honey is kidnapped by all of them and they escape towards the desert where they are chased by Wanted Bhai. In the midst of saving himself, Dr. Ghunguroo pushes Wanted Bhai, causing him to faint. Meanwhile, a group of camels heavily march there. Ajju is successful in saving Wanted Bhai from the stampede of camels, and restoring his sight. Wanted Bhai himself, as a form of gratitude, arranges the marriage of Ajju with Ranjana, calling Ajju his ‘second son’.

Ashok (Saif Ali Khan) and Kumar (Riteish Deshmukh) are best friends, whereas Shanaya (Tamannaah Bhatia) and Mishti (Bipasha Basu) are their love interests. Ashok’s father is a billionaire but has been in a coma for the last six years, while his wicked maternal uncle, Kunwar Amarnath Singh a.k.a. Mamaji (Ram Kapoor) teams up with an evil doctor, Dr. Khan (Nawab Shah) to get rid of Ashok and take over all his property. During a board meeting Mamaji mixes a medicine in Ashok and Kumar’s drink and they both start behaving like dogs.

They are taken to a mental asylum for treatment by Dr. Shivani (Esha Gupta), who soon realises the truth and promises to discharge them. But fate takes a twist as two lookalikes of Ashok and Kumar being treated in the same hospital’s ‘B’ ward, who work for Bijlani (Chunkey Pandey), a cocaine smuggler, are accidentally released instead of the true ones. Shanaya and Mishti take them to Ashok’s mansion where Singh understands the whole mix-up and plans to use the duplicate Ashok to become the owner of the whole business empire. Now the true Ashok and Kumar also come to know of Mamaji’s evil plan but are stuck in the asylum. They are offered help by one of the ward boys, Cyrus (Darshan Jariwala), who takes them to a secret ward ‘C’ to meet ‘Johnny’ who is a look alike of Mamaji but has a dangerous habit of attacking people who sneeze in front of him. Ashok and Kumar plan revenge against Singh with the help of Johnny but get caught by the warden Y. M. Raj (Satish Shah) before they can escape from the asylum. Y. M. Raj prepares to punish them but accidentally sneezes in front of them. Angered by this, Johnny beats him black and blue, thus helping the three escape.

On the day of the board meeting, the true Ashok and Kumar get ready to expose Mamaji, when Dr. Khan triggers the fire alarm. All the three mental patients escape the building. Now desperate, Ashok and Kumar bump into a dance bar owner Balbir, the triplicate of Mamaji while Mamaji also arranges another set of Ashok and Kumar with the help of plastic surgery from Dr. Khan’s two assistants who assume their identities. He takes the triplicate Ashok and Kumar to the House of Commons where the fake Ashok is to hand over all the business to him in the presence of Prince Charles but the real Ashok and Kumar arrive along with Balabir. To add to the confusion the three mental patients also storm in to help the real Ashok and Kumar creating panic among the eyewitnesses on seeing so many lookalikes together.

The film closes with Ashok’s father coming out of his coma and recognizing the true Ashok and getting Mamaji arrested for his deeds.
