نیویارک کی ایک سڑک کے فٹ پاتھ سے ٹکرا کر ایک بوڑھا آدمی گر پڑا۔ ایمبولینس آئی اور اسے اٹھا کر ہسپتال لے گئی۔ راستے میں نرس نے اس بوڑھے کی جیب سے بٹوا نکال کر تلاشی لی تو اسے ایک نام اور پتہ ملا جو شاید اس کے بیٹے کا تھا۔ نرس نے اسے پیغام بھیجا جلدی پہنچو اور یہ نوجوان فوراً ہی ہسپتال پہنچ گیا۔ نرس نے بوڑھے سے جس کے منہ پر آکسیجن ماسک لگا ہوا تھا سے کہا تمہارا بیٹا تم سے ملنے آیا ہے۔ تیز اثر دواؤں کے زیر اثر ہوش میں آئے ہوئے بوڑھے نے ہاتھ بڑھایا اور نوجوان نے بڑھ کر تھام لیا۔
یہ نوجوان مسلسل چار گھنٹے تک اس بوڑھے کے پاس رہا اور شفقت سے بوڑھے کا ہاتھ تھامے بار بار گلے لگاتا اور بوڑھے کی تیمار داری اور حوصلہ افزائی کرتا رہا۔ نرس نے اس دوران کئی بار نوجوان سے آرام کرنے یا ادھر ادھر چل پھر لینے کو بھی کہا مگر اس نے انکار کیا اور بوڑھے کے پاس موجود رہا۔
صبح کے وقت اس بوڑھے کی وفات ہو گئی۔ اس نوجوان نے نرس سے پوچھا؛ یہ بوڑھا آدمی کون تھا؟ نرس نے حیرت سے کہا؛ کیا یہ تیرا باپ نہیں تھا؟ اس نے کہا؛ نہیں، مگر میں نے محسوس کیا تھا کہ اسے اپنے بیٹے کی اشد ضرورت تھی جو اس کے قریب رہ کر اس کی تیمار داری کرے اور اسکی محرومیوں کا ازالہ کرے اس لیے میں اس کے پاس رہا
محتاج اور ضرورتمند کے ساتھ اچھائی ضرور کیجیئے، یہ اچھائی ایک دن آپ کے پاس ایسی جگہ سے واپس لوٹ کر آئے گی جو آپ کے وہم و گمان میں بھی نہیں ہوگی۔
