Does disclaimers even work? I’ve sped up a song and I’m certain that I can use it in a video, but I’m afraid that it will be muted or something. I’ve seen videos with Copyrighted Music, and I know they don’t have permission. But since the song isn’t the original it should be safe, right? But if it isn’t the original do I even have to put something about the copyright? Or could I just put this :
“I have followed the copyright law correctly, its non-profit and the songs are credited.” or “Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.”
What I’m asking for, I guess, is an example of what I should put in the description. Like :
I do not own the audio or footage in this video. They belong to their rightful owners.
