Synopsis : Chambi was considered to be the most beautiful girl of Sham Pur. Ganesha son of Kake Shah a money lender of the same village was after her, but she always responded to his unwanted advances with slaps. One day Ganesha went to Hari Pur to collect money from Raju’s mother and took Raju’s horse as well. While coming back to his village Ganesha misbehaved with a girl of Hari Pur. The father of the girl approached the Panchayat. The Panchayat did not take any action as they were already under the obligation of Kake Shah. Raju could not bear the injustice and took an oath to take revenge from Kaka Shah and Ganesha.
Meanwhile Raju met Labhu Ram, the father of Chambi who was also a victim of Kake Shah. Raju helped him and his kindness won Chambi’s heart. This however was intolerable to Ganesha. He bribed Kartara and Gula to clear his way. In the evening, when Raju was travelling, both Kartara and Gula pounced upon him. They beat him black and blue with their lathis and left him to die. Ganesha was very happy when he heard of Raju’s murder. However, it was shocking news to Chambi. She was unable to believe he is no more so she disguised herself as a Yogi to find out the truth. When she learnt he was alive her joy knows no bound. Finally, Raju’s mother agreed to their marriage and the date was fixed a few days after Baisakhi.
When Ganesha came to know about the marriage he was enraged. There was nothing left for Ganesha, but he managed to kidnap Raju from the marriage party. Ganeshadisguised himself as the groom and sat with Chambi. On gaining consciousness Raju escaped his captivity and rushed to the marriage venue along with the police. Ganesha was exposed and arrested by the police. Raju and Chambi were married in the same pandal.
