Is Bollywood now a mere propaganda tool? I HINDI CINEMA I KASHMIR FILES

पिछले कुछ वर्षों से विभिन्न सामाजिक-राजनीतिक को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मनोरंजन के नाम पर प्रचार उपकरण के रूप में कार्यरत हिंदी फिल्मों की बाढ़ आ गई है। लोगों की राय का ध्रुवीकरण करने के लिए दिन की सरकार का सांस्कृतिक एजेंडा। हाल ही में जारी कश्मीर फाइल्स ऐसा ही एक ज्वलंत उदाहरण है। उरी: द सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक जैसी फिल्मों ने वास्तव में चुनावों में वोट हथियाने में मदद की है। सिनेमा के शुरुआती दिनों से ही दुनिया भर की सरकारों द्वारा फिल्मों को प्रचार के एक उपकरण के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता रहा है। क्या यह सिनेमा के लिए अच्छा है? क्या यह सिनेमा को कहानी कहने के माध्यम और एक कला के रूप में दर्शाता है? हम इन बिंदुओं पर विशेषज्ञों के एक बहुत ही प्रतिष्ठित पैनल के साथ चर्चा करेंगे जिसमें प्रसिद्ध फिल्म विद्वान प्रोफेसर जवारीमल पारख, राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेता लेखक-निर्देशक विनय शुक्ला, फिल्म लेखक धनंजय कुमार और फिल्म लेखक फरीद खान शामिल हैं। चर्चा का संचालन वरिष्ठ पत्रकार और फिल्म समीक्षक अमिताभ श्रीवास्तव करेंगे।

For the past few years there has been a sort of deluge of hindi films serving as propaganda tool in the name of entertainment to promote various socio-political- cultural agenda of the government of the day to polarise opinions of people. Recently released Kashmir Files happened to be one such glaring example. Films like Uri: The Surgical strike have in fact helped to grab votes in elections. Movies have been used as a tool of Propaganda by governments world over since very early days of Cinema. Is it good for cinema? does it reflect on Cinema as a medium of storytelling and as an art? We will be discussing these points with a very distinguished panel of experts which includes noted film scholar Professor Jawarimal Parakh, National award winning Writer -Director Vinay Shukla, Film writer Dhananjay Kumar and Film writer Farid Khan. The discussion will be moderated by senior journalist and film critic Amitaabh Srivastava.
