The story of Devarakondalo Vijay Prema Katha begins with a brief overview of a sleepy village called Devarakonda in the Eastern Godavari district. The village chief, Sitharamayya, is known for being a doer, a generous and friendly person who is idolized by villagers as a fatherly figure for his service to people.
Story-
Seetharamayya never goes back on his word and acts strictly against anything that costs him his self-respect and honor. His daughter Devaki (Mouryaani) is studying at a college in the nearby town. Because of the love and affection he has for his daughter, Seetharamayya gives a portion of the harvest to the needy in the name of his daughter, as he believes that such good deeds would protect his family from evil eyes.
Vijay (Vijay Shankar), a tapori-style young man from the same town, has feelings for Devaki. Although he has known her since childhood, social forms and town customs keep them apart. The second half is about what Seetharamayya does to save his honor when his daughter accepts Vijay’s love and how the couple is boycotted by the mayor.
