Quang and Ngan Ha were childhood sweethearts. After the war, Quang returned from the battlefield with a scarred face. They got married, yet struggled to live together. Ngan Ha’s love had turned cold due to Quang’s injury, to the point that they had to get divorced. After the divorce, Ngan Ha eventually got involved with an artist, with whom she got pregnant. However, that artist abandoned her for a younger girl and she died alone in childbirth. Quang, who was still in love with her after all this time, decided to selflessly raise that child and considered her his own daughter.
