At Arrival in Bangkok I mostly take the taxi from the Airport. It is safe and fast if you use the ticket system. Forget about expensive Grab. If you have no luggage the train is a good option.
The ticket machines at the airport give you the name, car number and resgistration of your driver. Keep it with you at all times and the driver can not negotiate with you.
The ticket also has the hotline number you can call when you have any issues. They made this to make the taxi safe and pleasent, so please us it.
