Best Fishing Day Ever 1407

We have a mission! We are going to Pirate Island where we want to catch bugs, fish, or a snake! If we catch all three that would be even better!! Niko and his homie Jaxton are getting all the supplies that we need like the bug cage and rope so that when we go exploring we can catch these wild animals and insects! We have some fish traps chillin in the water at Pirate Island and we filmed how we made our DIY traps from dollar tree. While we head to the beach of the lake lot, we pop up Niko and Adley making their very first traps, a our science experiment with fishing.

Now that you know how to make this craft too, you should give it a try. First thing first, we have to check out Niko’s home made fingerboard skate park we made in the sand. We also see that Adley’s sandcastle from a few days ago has survived the waves and weather. We head over to the dock and pull up our traps. No fish yet, so we load them up with “bait” or what we call chips and pretzels. We have also learned that the fish really like gold fish crackers so we grab those to see if we can get them to come to the surface. That happened one day over the summer when we were here. That same day, Niko caught his first fish in one of the traps we made.

After seeing how many fish are coming to the surface, we decide to grab a net, and on his very first try, Niko pulls a fish out of the water! We want to make sure he is safe so we put him in a bucket of water while Adley Niko and dad make him a bigger fish tank out of a large metal tub. Every one is so excited that they all want to catch a fish. Adley goes next and she catches a fish on her very first attempt. Jaxton catches one and Niko gets a second. We have a proper fish farm going on here.

With all these fish we want to show them to someone we know would apricate it, so we call Franklin from Raww Fishing! We became buddies at Vidsummit and the kiddos love watching his videos. We give him a random call and he answers from a boat in the ocean. He is shark fishing, which Adley and Niko think is the coolest thing ever. Franklin is so stoked for the kiddos that they caught fish and so nice to take our call. He sent us a picture of a shark he caught so we can share it with you guys! What a cool dude and a real homie!

With all the fish in our fish tank, we try and see them in the water but its a little hard because its not clear. This is crazy how we are catching fish left and right. We talk about maybe looking for snakes but we’ve never caught one at Pirate Island, but we have at our new house. In fact, Jaxton one time was holding a snake he and Niko caught when it threw up its dinner.

It’s starting to get dark and we need to head home, so we carefully use a bucket to grab our fish friends, take a look at them, and release them back into the water. I love that we were able to share this with you guys cause fishing and these traps have been such a big part of our summer this year.
