Your favorite artist LOOKS like they make no mistakes. But the chances that they’ve perfectly drawn every line they intended to with a piece are pretty low. It’s just that you don’t SEE those mistakes when looking at the whole work.
Make that paper yours! If you misplace a mark, that’s okay. Make it a part of the larger work and keep on creating!

What makes a bad drawing? It’s not just one thing but there are some general guidelines we can follow.
You can play with value range, having more detail in your shadows or highlights. But those value families have to be consistent with each other.
Artists can subvert expectation and make art with qualities outside the norm. This just takes experience to be able to do with intention!
