What to Do Immediately If Your Tooth Falls Out #shorts #teeth – Creativelearning3d

If your tooth falls out, don’t panic! First, pick it up by the crown—the top part—avoiding the roots. Rinse it gently with water if it’s dirty, but don’t scrub it. Try placing the tooth back in its socket, holding it there with gentle pressure. If that’s not possible, put the tooth in milk or a saline solution. Then, get to a dentist as fast as you can. Acting quickly can increase the chances of saving your tooth!

Did you know the top layer of your gums sits around your tooth like a turtleneck, it’s not attached to bone or the tooth. It’s called the “gingival pocket” or the “free gingiva”. In healthy mouths it’s 1-3mm in depth, and it’s that space you’re scrubbing down into with your floss to make sure it’s squeaky clean of food and plaque debris!

The flossing method here is called the C-shaped technique, in this case with a floss pick.

Did you know there are other flossing alternatives to string – interdental brushes AKA proxabrushes and waterpiks are popular as well.

How To Floss

Download

Dr Chhaya Chauhan (GDC: 83940) explains how you should floss (clean in between) teeth.

Step 1: Pull out and cut off the reel of floss about 18 inches (45cm)

Step 2: Wrap the ends around your two index fingers, and stretch it between them, so it is fairly taught, leaving about 6 inches between the two fingers.

Step 3: Gently position the floss in between teeth, flex the floss slightly so it cups around the edge of one tooth in an C like shape. Move the floss up and down to get rid of plaque. Repeat this for the tooth on the other side of that same gap.

Step 4: Repeat this for the tooth on the other side of that same gap.

Step 5: Repeat this process for all teeth and gaps in the mouth.

Step 6: Dispose of the floss.
