Most How to run Deepseek R1 tutorials on the internet are about running their Distilled model – they are either the deepseek r1 qwen or deepseek r1 llama !

Thanks to the Unsloth team, we have got a 1.58bit quantized (without a lot of degrading of quality).

This new model can run on 2xH100 – 2x80GB VRAM

A quick tutorial of how to use Deepseek R1 Distill Models locally – This is not the full Deepseek R1 model rather the distiller smaller version LLMs which further in turn were quantized into GGUF formats.

We use LMStudio to run this, which is easy for Beginners with easy to use GUI.
