How to Do an Inchworm

So this exercise is called the inchworm. It’s a great way to warm up your core and also it does get some shoulders and arms in it so it’s a great exercise to use during your work out or even for your warm up. So you’re going to start out actually on your feet, you’re going to hinge from your hips and you’re going to walk your hands out in front of you as much and as far as you can. You’re going to stay here for a second, it’s like an extended plank position. You’re going to walk your hands back. You have the option of standing up, I’m not going to do that today.

I’m just going to come back to my toes and again I’m going to walk my hands out in front of me, as much as I can, engage my abs here. Reset and then go back in. When you’re here it’s a good idea to try to straighten the legs and get that hamstring stretch. It’s a great dynamic tool to use as warm up as well. So again walking your hands out and then coming back to either a standing position or just to your toes and that’s how you do the inchworm.

Learn how to tie a tie! Tie the Windsor knot, step by step, in 2 minutes. This “tie tutorial” will have you looking sharp and confident in no time at all! How to tie a tie mirrored slowly.

windsor knot, windsor knot tie, windsor knot steps, windsor knot half, windsor knot video, windsor knot instructions, windsor knot diagram, windsor knot vs half windsor, how to tie a tie, double windsor, full windsor, how to, necktie (garment), how to tie a necktie, half windsor.

Hello. I’m Charles from Louis Purple, and today I’m going to teach you how to tie a Windsor knot. The Windsor knot is actually a very simple knot to tie, and it’s very useful because it projects confidence. So it’s a wide, triangular knot that’s very suitable for presentations, job interviews, or cultural appearances, which I hope you don’t frequent too often. So this is how you start.

You just find the right balance depending on the length of your tie, with the wide end on the right hand side and the narrow end on the left. You might want to adjust exactly where the center of the tie should be at in the middle of your neck. So this is how you start. You cross over the wide end over the narrow end. You bring the wide end through the loop between the collar and the tie. And you bring the wide end back down.

Then you just pull the wide end underneath, and then bring it up through the loop again in order to have a symmetrical shape, which should look like this. And you’re almost done. There’s only the easy part left and the most rewarding. Pull the wide end in front. Bring the wide end underneath, and then slide it inside the loop and tie it in the knot. You draw the knot up in order to fit your collar. So it’s a knot that’s really suitable for widespread collars. And as I said, then you can just adjust and tighten how big of a knot you like to obtain. This is how you tie a Windsor knot.

Aaron: Hey guys, it’s Aaron.

Kristina: And I’m Kristina.

Aaron: And we are professional dance instructors here in New York City. Now today we’re going to be talking about a little dance we like to call the foxtrot, and we’re going to be starting here with the basic step. So what we’re going to do is break it apart, and I’m going to show you the gentlemen’s part and then Kristina is going to demonstrate for us the ladies’. So, in its most basic form, what we’re looking at here gentlemen, we’re starting again with our left leg just as we have in all the dances previous.

So what we’re going to be starting with is two walking steps forward. Walk, walk. And then we’re going to step to our left. Side, together. And then we would just repeat that from there. Walk, walk, and side, together. So taking a look at that one more time, now we’re going to add the actual counts to this step, which is going to be slow, slow, quick quick. And slow, slow, quick quick. Now I’m going to let Kristina demonstrate the ladies’.

Kristina: Okay, so for the ladies we are generally in the smooth dances moving backwards, so we’re going to start on our right foot. We’re going to take two backwards steps, so we have back, back, and then side right, close left foot to right foot. Again, back, back, side, close. And the counts for that, as Aaron had said, are slow, slow, quick quick. So we’re going to go on the right foot heading back slow, slow, quick quick. Slow, slow, quick quick. So let’s try this together with a partner. And slow, slow, quick quick. Slow, slow, quick quick.

Aaron: Now, let’s try that to music.

LaShonna: Hey everybody. I’m LaShonna.

Victor: And my name is Victor Sho.

LaShonna: And we’re going to teach you how to do the electric slide.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

LaShonna: If you don’t already know the electric slide, we’re going to teach you the basic form of it. If you already know it, we’re going to add some spice to it so that your electric slide can be the best of them all.

Victor: Alright, so…

LaShonna: We start with four steps to the right. One, two, three, four. Then same thing to the left, four steps. One, two, three, four. Then take four steps back. One, two, three, four. Then you do a little step touch to the front, smack, and back. If you got that much, we add the step kick. The foot that’s in front steps. The foot that’s in back kicks. Now we’re on a new side. This dance repeats over and over again. It’s a line dance, so we’re going to start this way. Ready? Four steps to the right. Here we go. One, two, three, to the left. One, two, then we take it back. One, two, left foot’s in front. We step kick. Start again, two, three, four. To the left, take it back. One, two, three, four. Step, touch. Step and kick. Okay?

Now we’re going to do the electric slide four times adding some variations to it. So the first time it’s going to be pretty basic and the second, third, and fourth time we’re going to add some spice to it. Ready Victor?

Victor: Yeah.

LaShonna: Okay. Five, six, to the right. Four steps.

Victor: You want to have fun with it.

LaShonna: That’s right.

Victor: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

LaShonna: And chasse.

Victor: Chasse, chasse, chasse.

LaShonna: A variation of the step, the four steps. Touch the floor on this one.

Victor: Uh! Kick it out! Chasse again. Back it up.

LaShonna: Add a lasso this time.

Victor: Uh! Uh! Uh!

LaShonna: Chasse.

Victor: Chasse again.

LaShonna: Take it back. Now hit the floor and pick your leg up. Hit the floor. Kick your leg out.

Victor: Oh! And that’s how you do it.

LaShonna: The electric slide.

What’s up? This is Jeff Cowans. I’m going to show you guys how to do a six step. We’re going to start it standing up and count to six throughout this. It’s not that hard. You’ve just got to keep up with the numbers, and it’ll work out for you.

All right. So we’re going to take the right foot and make like a circle. You swing it around, and you go like this, one. There you go. And I’m going to step back to the corner with my left foot, and there’s your two right there. And I go the other direction, three. One, two, three. You got that part. Yeah. So now I’m going to take my left and go diagonal, and there I have four. Bring this one behind, five, and then I’m going to jump. And I’m going to take my right foot, which is now in the back, and bring it up in the front, and I’m going to have six. Six.

Throughout the whole thing, I hope you’re noticing that it’s right, left, right, left, right, switch. Got it? Just like walking on a street, right, left, right, left. So you’re never going to do the same foot at the same time, and it’ll work out for you. Let’s try it again. Swing the right leg around. You’re going to go one, corner, two, corner, three, four, five, six. Repeat. One, two, three, four, five, switch it, six. There’s your six step.

We’re going to take it down to the floor, because you do a six step down here anyway, and my heels are off the floor, so I’m like this, right? So you’re in the position. You’re going to take your right leg, stretch it out, knee straight, and bring it all the way around to the front. There’s your one. That’s the circle I was talking about. Now I’m going to step to the back corner with my left foot, and that’s going to be my two. So I go two. I take the other leg, and I go three. Now, I take my left, and I bring it diagonally across, and I’ve got four. See that. Now I take my right foot, five.

From here, the jump switch that you did earlier is going to happen on the floor. It might feel a little bit weird to you, but I’m going to do it now without using the hands so you can just see what it looks like. Basically it’s like this. Now, going back to where I was, I had my hands on this side, so I’m going to jump and bring my hands to the other side. It looks like this. There you go. Got it? Now step to the corner. Step to the corner again. Step diagonal. Bring it in. Then I do that jump. There you go.

All right. We’re going to try it from the beginning, one more time, nice and slow. So we bring it around, five, six, seven, eight. Let’s do it. One, two, three, four, five, six. Again. One, corner, corner, four, five, six. There you go. We’re going to speed it up for you right now. You ready? Got it? Let’s do it again. Here you go, six step. Six step, give it a try.

S1: Have you ever heard of a game called the Three Card Monte?

S2: Nope.

S1: Okay, so it’s a game where you play– you see people playing it on the streets. The whole point’s to win money. And you just have to keep track of one card. We call it the money card. I like to use the joker because it has…

S2: Money on it, yeah.

S1: Yeah, a little dollar sign. So there are three different cards, that’s why it’s the Three Card Monte. We have the queen or any other arbitrary card, the money card and the other card. I’ll mix them up. It’s your job to keep track of which one’s which.

S2: Okay.

S1: Which one do you think is the money card?

S2: This one.

S1: That’s the queen and that’s how I win all the money.

S2: I was watching it.

S1: You want to learn how to do it?

S2: Yeah.

S1: All right, this is an old, old trick that con men have been doing for hundreds and hundreds of years.

S2: Really?

S1: Oh, yeah. But I’m going to teach you one of the many methods that they use. Don’t go thinking you that you can go out and play on the streets now, because this is just one of them. Yeah, yeah even if you win, you might not win if you know what I mean. So here’s how it works. There’s three different cards. You show the first card and then give it a little flick like this, and then I flick it down here, and you’ll see why that’s important in a moment.

S2: Okay.

S1: Then I show the next card to you. I’m also showing the camera’s over here. I give it a little flick and here’s the secret move. As I bring the cards down, I’m actually sliding them and reversing them and the bigger motion of bringing my hand down, hides that movement. So it’s this, that. I’ll do it again. So from here to here. But here’s what I do. So I say the queen, one of the red cards, I’m going to flick it again down here. The money card, and I switch it, the joker and the last card. And this is actually out of Diver and his Three Card Monte routine, which was published. But this is what seals the deal is when you show the first card, you give it a flick, they remember it and then you flick it down here and you say the queen or the other card. Then you show this card and you flick it, and as you put it down, you say the joker. And they remember seeing the card and hearing it flicked and they associate and remember that they saw the joker down there. But they never saw the joker down there. They saw it up here. And then the last card, which you can’t show, but by process of elimination people assume it’s the other queen. And when people try to trace back they’ll really recall that they saw all three cards very fairly, and now when you mix these up people are thinking that, “Oh, you’re mixing them so…”

S1: They don’t really know, yeah.

S2: And then they have no idea.

S1: Great.

S2: And that’s one way to win at Three Card Monte.

Next, let’s combine hip slides with outward horizontal figure-eights with a twist. So first, let’s start with the horizontal slides. Knees stay bent, chest is up, lower abs engaged, pushing your weight from side to side. Remember to keep your hands, head, and chest in the same position, and it’s just your hips that are moving. And if you want to remember, we’re trying to keep the line on our hips completely parallel to the floor. There should be no lifts. You shouldn’t be sitting to the hips. Just a perfect little slide.

Now, outward figure-eight is exactly what I described before. So we’re going to push the right hip forward, going along the corner, back corner, and sliding through to the other side. Right and left. And they’re horizontal, parallel to the floor. And as you’re doing this move, you’re also pushing the weight from leg to leg. So as you’re circling the right hip, my weight is completely on the right leg. My left leg is there just for balance.

So now we’re going to add a twist. We’re going to start our figure-eight, as we normally do, with the right hip coming forward, doing a first loop, and then as you begin to transition pushing the right hip back, we’re going to focus on the left hip instead, and bring it forward and back. So once again, twist, forward, back. And then, when we return, we’re going to continue the figure-eight like nothing happened. Left side, forward, back. Right, left. Right, left. So it’s like a normal figure-eight with a hiccup.

So let’s try putting that together. Four hip slides. One, two, three, four, and out. One, two, three, four. With music.

Now full speed.

Hey everybody. So, we are going to break down the wobble dance today and if you have ever been to a BBQ, a wedding or a cruise, you will hear this, you will see this dance, you will hear this song on constant rotation about every 10 minutes. People love it. It is the new electric slide. We are going to break this down. The magic numbers are one and five. Just remember that.

One, you are going to jump forward. Boom. Easy. Ok. Lets try that again. So we have, 5,6,7,8, jump 1. Now, when you jump here you are just going to groove, body roll, do whatever you kind of like. Any salt and pepper, onion, garlic flavor you got. So, you are going to go, 1,2,3,4, jump 5,6,7,8.

Next part, just lean to the right, step out to the right with your right foot. Everything with the right foot. For you, it is going to look like left, for me it is my right. 5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4, other side, 5,6,7,8. Good, lets take that a little slower. So, we just jump back. 5,6,7,8, jumping out to the right. 1,2,3,4, to the left, 5,6,7,8. You have to groove, you always have to groove. You can use a little salt. So, you go 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Repeat. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.

Now, for the sauce. Some people will go up, up and cha cha cha. Up, up and cha cha cha. We are going to try mixing them up a little bit together. So, we will go up, 2, back 3, 4, now up 6 and cha cha cha.

Now, lets try this with some music. I think you got it. [Music Plays] So, get your groove first. You want to be ready. You do not what to just start dancing from here. 5,6,7,8.

There you have it. Through your own little flavor in it. Have a little fun. There is no limit to what you can do with the wobble dance.

Okay, so today we’re going to go over how to do dumbbell hammer curls. Now there’s different variations to this. You can do um together or one at a time. I personally like one at a time, cause you can really focus on it. Now as opposed to a regular curl, you’re not gonna rotate your wrist up to the sky. Now notice in your regular curl, when you rotate you’re really peaking out your bicep. So you’re working a lot of the interior of the bicep. With a hammer curl, you’re focusing more on the width of your bicep in your forearm. Okay. So that’s the primary focus of the hammer curl. Now to do these, you’ll start just like your regular dumbbell curls. Hands at your side, nice base. Shoulder width apart with your feet. Loose knees, not locked out. Elbows, not locked out. Nice soft elbow. Now as you come up, you can come in different directions. You can come straight up or you can come across your body. I love to come across the body just because you feel a little more on that bicep. But, to do this, it’s very controlled movement. Squeeze. Come back down. Come up, very controlled movement. Squeeze. It’s really important to get that squeeze and flex everything you got in there. Come back down controlled. Don’t be throwing the weights around cuz it won’t do anything for ya. Breathing, is very important during this exercise. As you come up, you’re going to breath out. Squeeze, release, breath in. Come up, breath out, squeeze, breath in. Bad habits always happen with this exercise. you see guys throwin them up, elbows not locked in place. Keep your elbow right locked by your side. Come up, squeeze, come back down. You’ll really feel it in your forearm and in the middle of your bicep if you’re doing it right. Come up and down. Come up and down. That’s your dumbbell hammer curl.
