Download

You know how much I love deconstructing popular desserts and turning them into cake! This week’s topic is Banana Pudding, which is a favorite of mine. Banana pudding is a pudding generally consisting of layers of sweet vanilla flavored custard, vanilla wafers and/or ladyfingers and sliced fresh bananas placed in a dish and served, topped with whipped cream or meringue. So we are going to cake-ify every element and turn it into a delicious, comforting cake!

Here are all the recipe links to my vanilla and banana cake recipes so you can make this cake yourself!

Download

You guys have been asking for cakes without fondant, so this week, I’m serving up not one but TWO buttercream beauties ! Both cakes are tiered, but I’ve used different techniques for each based on skill levels so that you can “cake at your own” pace. This video is a CAKE-along format, so that you can see all the steps I’ve taken to really dive in and make this yourself.

The smaller cake is quite easy and a great beginner cake if you want to try out a simple tiered cake. You get the tiers but don’t have to worry about layering which is sometimes intimidating for beginners.

Also, in case you didn’t know, July is my birthday month!! And it’s HSNs birthday month too. To celebrate both, you can catch me on HSN on July 1st where I’ll be showing you all the tips and tools needed to make easy fun and easy birthday cakes.

GIANT EGGPLANT EMOJI CAKE! Most requested cake ever! | How to Cake It

Download

Ok, I need to start by saying this was YOUR idea. Honestly, the eggplant emoji cake is probably one of the most requested cakes I’ve ever had. When I made the Peach Emoji cake a lot of you asked for an eggplant emoji cake. I don’t know what the relation is, or why anyone would use this emoji aside from a grocery list, but when so many of you ask for a specific cake I need to deliver. Besides I’m not about to say no to such a fun project!

This cake is another simpler sculpted cake for those of you just starting out with fondant and novelty cakes. Also because it’s an emoji and more cartoony, you don’t have to worry too much about hyper realistic details.

Inside this cake is also simple but delicious – my ultimate Vanilla cake, which I created especially for sculpted cakes, it’s sturdy enough for sculpting but so moist and delicious, especially when showered in simple syrup. I also used my yummy vanilla Italian meringue buttercream inside.

Now, I want to see you all give this “beginner-ish” level sculpted cake a a try.

And I’m afraid to ask again, but please comment below, what emoji should I cake next?

Barbie, Lego and Fingerling Viral Toy birthday cakes! | How to Cake It With Yolanda Gampp!

Download

Barbies and Legos seem to be EVERYWHERE these days! And if you’ve got children (or adult kids!) in your life, it’s likely they’re big fans of at least one of these two popular toys and would LOVE a toy-inspired cakes for their upcoming birthdays.

In this week’s episode of How To Cake It, I’m revisiting some of my most viral toy cakes, but adding in NEW tips, tricks and commentary to help those of you who are looking to make a cake for the kiddos you love, as easy and fun as possible.

Don’t get me wrong – the Fingerling cake – which kicks off this video is NOT very easy at all (but isn’t it fun to watch come together?!) It’s actually quite hard and we left it here for the pros (and the entertainment)

BUT the Lego cake is much more accessible – it just requires LOTS of patience as getting sharp, smooth edges requires many layers of icing.

The Barbie cake – which has an ombré dress(!) 👗 – is the easiest cake of the bunch and I just know you can DO IT!!

Link to the step by step instructions for the Barbie cake is here:

It also links out to a detailed video for this cake. I do hope some of you will try to make it. If you do PLEASE let me know and please tag me – we LOVE to see your cake creations inspired by our videos!

This GIANT Fruit Creme Cookie was so much DRAMA!!| How to Cake It With Yolanda Gampp

Download

Oh my – Talk about cake drama! I didnt think this giant jelly cookie cake would be as challenging as it was but, as you’ll see in this episode, there were a lot of ups and downs in the making of this cake🍪🍰

In this video, you’ll laugh and learn along as I do “air bubble damage repair”, “paint” with cocoa powder and make-up brushes, and use RICH buttercream, all to make a giant version of a fruit creme cookie cake that’s popular in every single country in the world (based on what I’m told anyway). Side note – my goal is find out the name of this cookie in as many countries as possible, so please share what it’s called and the flavors available where you live⬇️

This cake, like most of my sculpted, novelty cakes, are all about the texture and the details – from the golden-brown edges to the gooey creme filling, every element will leave you craving a bite. And speaking of filling, there’s a fruity twist to our giant cookie cake with a luscious center made from jelly. (It was sooooooooo delcious!) It’s also the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the cake! 🎉🍪 #GiantCookieCake #HyperRealisticBaking #HowToCakeIt #sculptedcake #fondant #buttercream

How To Cake A VEGETABLE GARDEN For Mother’s Day! Beet, Carrot and Radish! Realistic Novelty Cakes!

Download

Mother’s Day is a special day to show your mom how much you appreciate her. Why not surprise her with a unique and creative cake that celebrates her love of gardening? A vegetable garden cake is a fun and delicious way to show your mom how much you care.

To make a vegetable garden cake, you’ll need a few basic ingredients and supplies. Start with a round cake pan and a cake mix of your choice. You’ll also need buttercream frosting, food coloring, and a variety of edible decorations such as candy, sprinkles, and fondant.

To begin, bake the cake according to the instructions on the box. Once the cake is cooled, use a serrated knife to level the top of the cake. Then, use a pastry bag to pipe a border of buttercream frosting around the edge of the cake.

Next, divide the buttercream frosting into three separate bowls. Color each bowl with a different food coloring to create the colors of your vegetable garden. For example, you could use green for the grass, yellow for the carrots, and red for the beets.

Once the frosting is colored, use a spatula to spread the green frosting over the top of the cake. This will be the grass of your vegetable garden. Then, use a spoon to create small mounds of the yellow and red frosting. These will be the carrots and beets.

Finally, use the edible decorations to add details to your vegetable garden. Sprinkles can be used to create the dirt, and candy can be used to create the carrots and beets. You can also use fondant to create small leaves for the carrots and beets.

Once your vegetable garden cake is complete, it’s time to present it to your mom. She’ll be sure to love the creative and delicious cake you’ve made for her. With a vegetable garden cake, you can show your mom how much you appreciate her and her love of gardening.

This week’s cake is dedicated to my mom, who loves gardening. We are turning vanilla and carrot cake, italian meringue buttercream and chocolate ganache into a beet, carrot and radish, inside an edible garden!
