They can be enjoyed savoury or sweet and are made with the most divine French pastry which is so thin and delicate, creating pillows of heaven when made just right! Time, patience and good technique really are key so I’ve asked for some help from professional Pastry Chef Daria Nechiporenko and in this episode of my baking series, she provides a step by step guide to mastering what can be an intimidating process…but it’s sooo worth it when the first bite of your croissant will take you so pastry heaven!

This Croissant recipe is about as minimal equipment as you can get in a recipe. It’s a no machine, as well as a no knead recipe. All it requires is some focus, and a little bit of patience. Oh, and a rolling pin helps too. Then you end up with beautifully flakey and buttery croissants that have a glossy crispy exterior, and a soft and rich inside. Nothing beats homemade.

Learn how to make the most incredible almond croissant recipe, aka “Croissants aux Amandes”. These flaky golden croissants are filled and topped with almond cream and sliced almonds.

Ingredients for Almond Croissants: 
►8 (one-day-old) medium/large croissants
►3 Tbsp sliced almonds
►Powdered (Confectioner’s) sugar for dusting

Ingredients for the syrup:
►2 Tbsp sugar
►4 Tbsp rum (optional, but highly recommended. You can use 1 tsp Vanilla extract instead)
►1 Cup water
