Making your own beef tallow is very simply and very useful.

Tallow has so many uses such as cooking or resting briskets in it. It is a great fat for cooking particularly in pans for sautéing. McDonalds used to fry their french fries in it. It has many non food uses such as skin care products and in candles. It has mechanical uses such as maintenance on cast iron pans, butcher blocks and cutting boards. It also can be used to wipe down smokers and griddles to prevent rust.

If you are on the keto diet, tallow is considered a good fat.

Beef tallow can last up to a year at room temperature in a sealed container in a cool, dark place away from air and heat sources. It can also be kept in the refrigerator for up to a year, or frozen indefinitely. Regular use can help maintain its freshness and quality.

Traditional Lule Kebab Recipe in the Village! – How to make Azerbaijani dish Lüle Kebab?

Lule Kebab, also known as “lüle kebabı,” is a traditional Azerbaijani dish made from spiced ground meat shaped into a cylindrical form around a skewer and grilled over an open flame. It is similar to other Middle Eastern kebab recipes but features the unique flavors and ingredients of Azerbaijani cuisine.

Here’s a traditional recipe for preparing Lule Kebab in the village style:

Ingredients:
Ground Meat:
500g ground lamb or a mix of lamb and beef (you can use chicken if preferred).
Onions:
1 medium onion, finely grated.
Garlic:
2 cloves, finely minced.
Spices:
1 teaspoon ground cumin.
1 teaspoon ground coriander.
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional).
Salt and black pepper to taste.
Herbs:
Fresh cilantro or parsley, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup).
Skewers:
Metal skewers for grilling.
Vegetables (optional):
Tomatoes, bell peppers, or onions for grilling alongside the kebabs.
Instructions:
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, spices, and chopped herbs.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands to ensure even distribution of flavors.
Let the meat mixture rest for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Shape the Meat:
Take a portion of the meat mixture and shape it around a skewer, forming a cylindrical shape. Press the meat firmly to keep it intact during grilling.
Repeat with the remaining meat mixture.
Preheat the Grill:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you’re using a charcoal grill, make sure the coals are evenly distributed and hot.
Grill the Kebabs:
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and has a nice char.
If you’re grilling vegetables, you can place them on the grill alongside the kebabs.
Serve:
Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
Serve the lule kebabs with lavash or pita bread, grilled vegetables, fresh herbs, and your favorite sauces (such as yogurt or tomato sauce).
