How to Make Your Drawings Look 3D

Download

Learn to plan complex 3D objects on a flat surface using orthos (straight-on views) and explore one-point perspective to make drawings look 3D. You’ll find out how architects and designers use orthographic projections (orthos) and one-point perspective to plan 3D objects on a flat surface. Orthos are straight-on views (front, side, top) that show how an object looks from different angles. But to create a 3D effect, you use one-point perspective, where lines converge to a single point on the horizon line. For example, railroad tracks appear to meet at the horizon.

Your assignment: draw your name into deep space using one-point perspective. Post your work and get feedback from the community –

I’m working on a new brush set for my upcoming course, so I had allll the supplies out the other day, playing with different mediums. I was so happy with how my pastel experiments came out, I wanted to share my settings/process with you this week and because I made sooo many variations, I’m giving 5 brushes away!
