India struck terror-linked locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir early on Wednesday. The attack, codenamed Operation Sindoor, was announced by the Indian government with a 2am statement that called the strikes “focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature”. The attack, coming in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 people were killed, targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed, the government said in a statement.
