Three medical friends from Delhi go missing in a small village – Jhanjhar. It’s two months, and there is no clue about their disappearance. The media and students movement demand action from the authorities. It’s then that the government orders a Central Bureau of Investigation enquiry with officers Siddhant Chaturvedi CBI (Akshaye Khanna) and Pratap Kumar (Ajay Devgan) to solve the case. They find it difficult to solve the case as the local police and other authorities are a part of Shool Sena, which is supported by the Home Minister and is responsible for illicit activities. Siddhant and Pratap also face Superintendent of police Ajatshatru Singh IPS (Paresh Rawal), a ruthless police officer who misuses his power. Not only that, even the locals don’t support the investigation.

It’s with the help of Roshni (Amita Pathak), who is the daughter of the village head and also very wealthy, and Geeta (Bipasha Basu), who is Ajatshatru’s wife and Pratap’s former love, that the investigation moves ahead.

The truth behind the missing three friends is revealed by Geeta, who witnessed the killing of these boys by a local politician helped by her husband.

This investigation is filled with many traps and thrills created by Ajatshatru and his colleagues. They try to destroy the name of CBI in a number of ways. The duo also manages to get one of the criminals to believe that the shool sena is trying to kill him, assuming him to be a mole, and that he had better become a government witness for their case. The criminal who intimidated was only guilty of burying the bodies. Things get worse when Ajatshatru comes to know about his wife Geeta helping CBI. He then beats Geeta brutally with his belt behind closed doors and leaves her hospitalized. Pratap, filled with anger, traps each of the criminals by hacking their respective phone’s databases and capturing their illicit activities on CCTV cameras. When it is Ajatshatru’s turn, Pratap cuts him with a sharp razor and beats him brutally and mercilessly in a salon behind closed doors. In the end, all the criminals are sentenced to imprisonment. However, the longest sentence doled out was only for 10 years and the lightest was for 3. Obviously, justice is still blind because there was no sentence passed for the 300 villagers burned alive, the cruel beating of the wife, or the kidnap, abuse, and cutting of the tongue of Jhamunia.

But the story does not end there. As everyone is leaving the court, Siddhant slips a revolver into village woman Jhamunia’s (Reema Sen) hands, with which she manages to kill all the culprits.

The film ends with Siddhant and Pratap bidding goodbye at the railway station, and Geeta running behind Pratap as he boards the train to leave, with Siddhant watching on.

Murphy “Barfi” Johnson (Ranbir Kapoor) is an optimistic, street-wise, charming young man who was born deaf and mute to a Nepali couple in Darjeeling. His mother died when he was a baby and his father, Jung Bahadur, raised him alone while working as a chauffeur. Barfi is known as a troublemaker – he cuts lampposts, plays practical jokes on innocent people, and is chased by Sudhanshu Dutta (Saurabh Shukla), a local police officer. Barfi meets Shruti Ghosh (Ileana D’Cruz), a gorgeous and educated young girl, who has just arrived in Darjeeling; she is engaged to Ranjeet Sengupta (Jisshu Sengupta) and is due to get married in three months, and Barfi is immediately smitten by Shruti’s heavenly beauty and charm, eventually falling in love with her. She also falls in love with Barfi but her mother dissuades her from pursuing him because he could not take care of her with his disabilities and lack of money. Shruti takes her mother’s advice, gets married, and moves to Kolkata, breaking all contact with Barfi.

Meanwhile, Bahadur falls ill and Barfi must somehow raise the money for his treatment. After an unsuccessful,yet entertaining, attempt to rob a local bank, he tries to kidnap Jhilmil Chatterjee (Priyanka Chopra) – Barfi’s autistic childhood friend and wealthy heiress of her grandfather’s fortune – for a ransom. Upon arriving, Barfi finds she has already been kidnapped. He sees her in a van, sneaks inside and drives Jhilmil away from the ransom delivery. He hides her in his apartment with the police in pursuit. Barfi collects the ransom but finds that Bahadur has died just as he makes the payment. Dejected, Barfi tries to leave Jhilmil at the village of her caretaker, but she refuses to leave him and they soon move to Kolkata, where Barfi assumes responsibility for Jhilmil and takes care of her.

Six years later, Barfi and Shruti meet by chance. Shruti is unhappy with her marriage and she and Barfi rekindle their friendship, much to the chagrin of the lovestruck Jhilmil, who then goes missing. Shruti files a missing person report for Jhilmil. The Darjeeling police learn about the report, resume their pursuit of Barfi and arrest him. As he is being interrogated, another ransom demand for Jhilmil is made and she is apparently killed in the process of the exchange, though her body is never found. In order to conclude the case, the police try to frame Barfi for Jhilmil’s murder. Sudhanshu, who grew fond of Barfi after investigating him for his nuisances, asks Shruti to take him away, offering him a second chance at life. She agrees and hopes that now Jhilmil is gone, she can finally be with Barfi.

Barfi is deeply affected by Jhilmil’s loss and is not able to live peacefully without her. He finds the location of Jhilmil’s childhood home and takes Shruti to look for her. They find that Jhilmil is still alive and that both kidnappings were fabricated by her father so he could embezzle money from Jhilmil’s trust fund. In the second attempt, a second time, they faked her death so that she could return to her special-care home, away from her alcoholic mother. Barfi has a happy reunion with Jhilmil and the two are married, while Shruti spends the rest of her days prosperous, but alone, having lost her chance to be with Barfi.

Several years later, Barfi is shown to be gravely ill in a hospital and is close to death. Jhilmil arrives and lies with Barfi in his hospital bed as an old Shruti narrates and the two of them spend Barfi’s last moments together, not wanting to leave each other behind in life or death. The film closes showing the happy days of Barfi and Jhilmil as the credits roll.

Indian Military Intelligence assigns their agent, Vikram Sabharwal, to travel to Kashmir. There he is to locate the person(s) behind the violence, under the guise of a press reporter, Gul Jahangir. Once there, he begins his investigation by visiting highly sensitive areas as such as the Jama Masjid, Dardpura Village and Rainawari Chowk. He is accompanied by a tailor, Char Chinar, who sells uniforms to both militants and the military soldiers. Vikram meets up with Aziza Abbas Ansari, and her mentor, Haji Sayyed Shah, and aspiring political leader, Aatif Hussain. And it is after these meetings that he will conclude who is behind the extremism in this beautiful yet ‘most dangerous place on Earth’.

Jai Agnihotri (Salman Khan) is an ex-army officer who is short-tempered and passionate about helping citizens and fighting criminals. He was a major in the Indian Army, but was suspended after he ignored orders from his superiors by rescuing a group of children from terrorists. After this incident, Jai moved in with his mother and sister Geeta (Tabu Hashmi).

One day, Jai is unable to help Suman, a physically disabled girl (Genelia D’Souza), take an examination while her brother Rohan (Vikas Bhalla) was stuck in a traffic jam. A depressed Suman commits suicide. Jai is greatly disturbed by this incident. With Suman’s death fresh in his mind, Jai creates a system that would encourage citizens to help each other. Each day, citizens are to help three people. These three people would in turn help three more people, and so on. Jai believes that this network would foster kindness and a sense of community among the citizens. His system, however, faces challenges.

On one occasion, for one of his daily good deeds, Jai loses his temper and beats a rich man who had injured a child beggar. In an act of revenge, the rich man employs some men to kidnap Jai’s sister Geeta and friend Rinky (Daisy Shah). Jai is able to save Geeta and Rinky, but injures one of the captors in the process, who happenes to be the henchman of a member of the Legislative Assembly named Patil, the son-in-law of the Home Minister Dashrath Singh (Danny Denzongpa).

Dashrath is not happy that Jai has injured one of Patil’s henchmen. He attempts to avenge this injury by kidnapping Jai’s nephew Kabir. Dashrath, however, loses Patil out of Jai’s rage in the process. Chief Minister Ashok Pradhan (Mohnish Behl) meanwhile finds out about Jai’s system after his own life is saved by a schoolgirl performing her good deeds for the day. He decides to intervene in the dispute between Dashrath and Jai in an attempt to put an end to their fight. Dashrath, who does not appreciate this intervention, attempts to kill Ashok and frame Jai. However, Jai is able to save Ashok.

Dashrath’s son Arjun Singh and his hired men attack Jai, who kills Arjun, but not before the latter is severely injured after getting stabbed by his sister and Patil’s widow, Kavita (Sana Khan) and she being stabbed to her stomach. A rickshaw driver (Mahesh Manjrekar) and Jai’s former colleague, Army Officer Arjun Kaul (Suniel Shetty), together help Jai get to the hospital. While Jai is at the hospital, Dashrath spreads rumors that Jai had attempted to assassinate Ashok. Once he recovers, Ashok reveals that it was Dashrath and not Jai who was behind the attempted murder. An enraged crowd beats Dashrath to near death after hearing the truth.

Doctors are able to save Jai, who has survived, thanks to his own help-three-people concept. When Jai emerges from the hospital, he finds thousands of people waiting for him. Jai thanks them all for making his concept a success.

The film moves to the offices of former chief justice turned private prosecutor Dhingra (Amitabh Bachchan) where he interviews the three leading members of the Bombay Encounter Squad: Additional Commissioner of Police Shamsher S. Khan (Addl.CP S.S. Khan) (referring to A. A. Khan, played by Sanjay Dutt), Inspector Kaviraj Patil (Sunil Shetty) and Police constable Javed Sheikh (Arbaaz Khan). The main film timeline is the extended interview of the three officers by Dhingra; as the officers answer Dhingra’s questions, the film flashes back to show the incidents.

Dhingra asks about the Encounter Squad. Khan explains that he hand-picked 27 of Bombay police’s best-enlisted men and officers. He borrowed the concept from the LAPD SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team to help combat crime. The film flashes back to show Khan selecting his men and putting them through intensive physical and mental training to be “fast, efficient and deadly.” Dhingra is hardly impressed: He points out that if Khan “shoots to kill,” he is no different from the gangsters he seeks to destroy.

Dhingra asks why Khan felt he had to do this. Khan explains that following Operation Blue Star in 1984, several Sikh terrorists fled to Bombay and began establishing a base in the city. They engaged in violence, extortion, and other subversive tactics to grow their operations. The film flashes back to show Sub Inspector Mhatre (Abhishek Bachchan), a very brave officer and disciple of Khan, pursuing and subsequently getting shot down by a group of Sikh terrorists. Khan is deeply frustrated when the Bombay police, mired in internal bureaucracy and corruption, fail to act. He obtains clearance from the police commissioner Krishnamurthy (played by the real A. A. Khan) and sets out after the militants. Khan asks Meeta Matu (Diya Mirza) to cover the incident so as to deter future terrorists. True to Khan’s words, he successfully “encounters” (it indicates summarily gunning down criminals; extrajudicial killings is the term accepted internationally) the terrorists who shot PSI Mhatre. As per Aftab Ahmed Khan the encounter with Khalistani Extremist was more dangerous and tough than Shootout at Lokhandwala.

the daughter of Raja Bharmal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) of Amer, is betrothed to Rajkumar Ratan Singh of Ajabgarh. Raja Bharmal announces that his son Bhagwant Das would be his heir and Sujamal (Sonu Sood), Jodhaa’s cousin, whom she wants to be the king’s heir instead of Bhagwant Das, will have to work under him. Sujamal, who is deprived of his rightful throne, angrily leaves the kingdom to join rebels. When the Mughal Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan) plans to attack Amer, Raja Bharmal reluctantly makes a peace offering, proposing to strengthen relations by his daughter’s marriage to the emperor himself to avoid war. Akbar agrees to the marriage, as it would bring forward a true strong alliance and long lasting peace between the Mughals and Rajputs. But, this breaks the alliance of Raja Bharmal with the other kings of Rajputana, including Rana Uday Singh. Jodhaa completely resents being reduced to a mere political pawn as she wants to marry Ratan Singh. She writes a letter to Sujamal, entreating him to come rescue her from the marriage, but doesn’t send it. Jodhaa shares all her misery with her mother, who tells her to send a servant girl in her place.

Jodhaa replies that it would deceive Akbar and would be death to their kingdom if he finds out. Her mother gives her a vial of poison and tells her to use it if a need arises. Jodhaa demands a meeting with Akbar and demands to keep her Hindu religion after marriage, and that a temple be built for her to continue her faith,[10] with the intention of having the emperor call off the wedding. To her surprise, Akbar agrees to all her demands. After their marriage, Jodhaa acts reluctant with Akbar and they do not consummate their marriage. He assures Jodhaa that they will let things fall into place. Over time, both Jodhaa and Akbar learn from and gain admiration for each other.

Akbar’s nurse and nanny, Maham Anga, whom he loves like his own mother, despises Jodhaa and conspires to humiliate her in front of Akbar. She finds the letter Jodhaa had written and has it sent, and when Sujamal comes to meet Jodhaa in private, she insinuates to Akbar that Jodhaa went to meet her lover. Akbar sends his men to arrest Sujamal, who thinks Jodhaa has framed him, and immediately flees. Akbar is enraged and banishes Jodhaa. Jodhaa doesn’t give an explanation, indignant at her character being questioned. Later Akbar finds out the truth and goes to her maternal home, apologises to her, and asks her to come back, but she refuses. He also finds out that she is skilled in fencing, and engages in a playful duel with Jodhaa, who tells him to investigate the working of his relations and empire. Akbar returns and travels through the common folk in disguise to understand the problems of his people better.

While flying back to Mumbai, Rajeev Malhotra meets Charles, a criminal. Malhotra then rushes to the hospital where his wife has given birth to Twin sons. The doctor explains that when the twins are near each other, their reflexes operate simultaneously.

Malhotra has the authorities at the hospital waiting to arrest Charles. In the scuffle, Charles kidnaps one of the twins and leaves him at the train tracks. Charles is arrested and is sentenced to twenty years in prison. The police advises Malhotra to take his wife and Prem and leave India, so they move to London, England. The other twin is found by a woman named Kashibai and she raises him as her son in Mumbai, and names him Raja.

Twenty years later, Charles is almost about to be released from jail. Prem has grown up to be a kind and gentle Christian boy who aspires to be a musician. He is thrashed and bullied by an upperclassman, Rocky, on his first day of college and is pitied by Samaira. Samaira is impressed by Prem’s musical talents and asks him to come to her house and teach her music.

At the same time, Raja has grown up to be a fun-loving young man and staunch devotee of Ganpati Bappa, growing alongside his friend Nandu in the slums. One day, he gets in brawl with Alex, a local goon’s head, at the festivities for Ganesh Chaturti. Raja is warned to take Nandu and get out of India for a few days because Alex’s goons will go after them. Raja and Nandu illegally fly to London and meet Alishka on the flight. Raja starts dating Alishka and Prem begins dating Samaira.

Now that Raja and Prem are both in London and are in close proximity to each other, their reflexes start operating simultaneously, and this creates a lot of confusion for the both of them and their girlfriends. They are also mistaken for each other by many people in the city.

One day, after Raja and Nandu save Malhotra from an accident, they find Alex and his uncle and discover that Alex lost his memory after that incident. Raja and Prem finally meet each other. They don’t realize that they are twins and conclude that they only share the same face.
