Released in 1981, Bulundi is a gripping crime thriller and drama film starring Raaj Kumar, Asha Parekh, Danny Denzongpa, and Kim in pivotal roles. Directed by Esmayeel Shroff, the movie features music composed by the legendary R.D. Burman. Danny Denzongpa delivers a standout performance in a double role, portraying both father and son. The film was later remade in Tamil as Narmay.
The story revolves around Professor Satish Khurana (Raaj Kumar), who lives a content life with his wife Sarla (Asha Parekh) and younger sister Leena. Trouble begins when Satish is unexpectedly denied a promotion by his principal, who informs him that the position has been given to someone else. Deeply disheartened, Satish receives a call from his friend Viju Mohanty, requesting him to tutor the son of a wealthy businessman, Ranjit Singh Lobo (Danny Denzongpa). Initially hesitant, Satish agrees after being impressed by Ranjit’s simplicity and respectful demeanor.
Ranjit’s son, Manjeet, though punctual, starts off as arrogant and disobedient. However, under Satish’s guidance, he begins to transform. Observing this, Ranjit’s friends Madan Teja (Kader Khan) and Baboolal Bhakhri (Jeevan) also request Satish to tutor their sons, Vikram and Pawan.
Just when everything seems to be going well, Satish is falsely accused of leaking exam papers through his private tuition classes, leading to his dismissal from the college. Who could have a vendetta against the honest professor? Could this be the doing of spoiled children from powerful families?
बुलंदी 1981 में रिलीज हुई एक क्राइम थ्रिलर और ड्रामा फिल्म है। जिसमें राज कुमार, आशा पारेख, डैनी डेन्जोंगपा, किम का लीड रोल हैं। इस फिल्म को एस्मायेल श्रॉफ ने डायरेक्ट किया था और इसका संगीत आर. डी. बर्मन ने तैयार किया था। इसमें डैनी डेन्जोंगपा ने डबल रोल किया है जिसमें वह बेटे और पिता दोनों ही है। इसे तमिल में नर्मई नाम से रिमीक किया गया था।
प्रोफेसर सतीश खुराना (राज कुमार) अपनी पत्नी सरला (आशा पारेख) और बहन लीना के साथ रहते हैं। अचानक प्रिसिंपल ने उन्हें प्रोमोशन देने से इंकार कर दिया ये कहकर कि किसी और को मिल गया। इससे सतीश को बहुत दुख होता है। इसी दौरान एक दिन, उनके दोस्त विजू मोहंती ने उनसे फोन के माध्यम से, एक अमीर बिजनेसमैन, रणजीत सिंह लोबो (डैनी डेन्जोंगपा) से मिलने का अनुरोध किया, ताकि उनके बेटे मंजीत को प्राइवेट ट्यूशन पढ़ा सके। पहले तो सतीश झिझकता है, लेकिन रणजीत की सादगी और व्यवहार को देखते हुए इसे स्वीकार कर लेते हैं। मंजीत किसी भी चीज़ में समय का पाबंद था, लेकिन शुरू में घमंडी और अवज्ञाकारी था। इसे एक चैलेज की तरह लेते हुए सतीश से मिलने के बाद उसमें सुधार होने लगता है। यह देखकर, रणजीत के दोस्त मदन तेजा (कादर ख़ान) और बाबूलाल भाकरी (जीवन) ने भी अपने बेटों विक्रम और पवन के लिए सतीश से प्राइवेट ट्यूशन लेने का अनुरोध किया।
सब कुछ अच्छा ही चल रहा था कि सतीश पर प्राइवेट ट्यूशन के जरिये परीक्षा के प्रश्नों का खुलासा करने का आरोप लगाया जाता है और उन्हें कॉलेज से निकाल दिया जाता है। अब सवाल ये उठता है आखिर प्रोफ्सर सतीश से किसी का दुश्मनी हो सकती है? कही ये बड़े बाप के बिगड़ी औलाद का तो काम नहीं?
