A married woman in her thirties has a chance encounter with a younger woman who will allow her to rediscover herself. Starring Josie Ho as Flavia and Tian Yuan as Yip.

In conversation Flavia and Yip are using cross-language communication. Flavia is speaking in Cantonese (HK) and Yip is speaking in Mandarin (Mainland Chinese).
The Chinese title (word for Butterfly) is Hu Die (Húdié).
Tian Yuan (who plays Yip) is a singer-songwriter, actress, novelist and photographer. At 16 she was vocal and lyricist with the band Hopscotch and recorded the album “A Wishful Way” (2002). The movie features three songs from the album: Try To, She (both live in bar), A Wishful Way (original studio recording, end credits). Butterfly was Tian Yuan’s acting debut.
The bar Yip sings in, Dusk Till Dawn, is located at 76 Jaffe Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
