The latter hires a gang to teach the stubborn belle a lesson. Andrey Savin, an incidental passerby, witnesses the attack and stands up for the girl. Unexpectedly for everyone, Anna falls in love with Andrey. The rumors reach Zhukov and he goes on the rampage. Once he finds out that the object of his adoration is pregnant, he lies to Andrey that it’s his baby. Andrey searches for truth, but Anna, offended by his distrust, claims that the child is, indeed, by Zhukov. Andrey leaves her, Anna has an abortion. If only she knew where her pride would lead her…
