In this episode, which is part of my series, CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD Movie Reviews & UK Movie Review, we reviewed PANDORA AND THE FLYING DUTCHMAN (1951), which was directed and written by Albert Lewin and starred Ava Gardner and James Mason.
We explored how layered this film is with it’s use of technicolor (by cinematographer Jack Cardiff) and how it uses legends, surrealism, and more to express the story. We also talk about why Ava Gardner was an underrated actor and talk about the making of the film as well, plus much more !
