साल 1983 में आई फिल्म’बेताब’ (Betaab), हिंदी सिनेमा की पारंपरिक लव स्टोरी की कहानी को फिल्म ‘बेताब’ में दिखाया गया। फिल्म में सनी देओल (Sunny Deol) ने ‘सनी’ और अमृता सिंह (Amrita Singh) ने ‘रोमा’ का किरदार किया। जबकि रोमा के पिता ‘दिनेश सिंह’ की भूमिका को दिग्गज कलाकार शम्मी कपूर (Shammi Kapoor) ने बखूबी अदा किया। इसमें एक गाना है… जिसके बोल है, “जब हम जवां होंगे जाने कहां होंगे” (Jab Hum Jawa Honge) ये गाना सनी देओल और अमृता सिंह पर फिल्माया गया था। इस गाने ने बॉलिबुड में खूब धूम मचाई थी। जिसे लता मंगेश्कर (Lata Mangeshkar) और शब्बीर कुमार (Shabbir Kumar) ने गाया था।
