Released in 2014, “Holiday” is a remake of the Tamil film “Thuppakki.” This entertaining movie is filled with romance, comedy, and action. The story and direction are by A.R. Murugadoss, with music composed by Pritam. The film revolves around a soldier who is never off duty, always committed to his responsibilities as a soldier, no matter where he is. The plot focuses on an Indian Army intelligence officer who tries to uncover a terrorist conspiracy.

The story begins with Captain Virat Bakshi (played by Akshay Kumar) returning home for holidays, where his family arranges his marriage with Saiba (played by Sonakshi Sinha). Amidst the ups and downs of their relationship, Virat, with the help of his police inspector friend (played by Sumeet Raghavan), tries to infiltrate a terrorist network. This marks the beginning of his mission, where on one side, terrorists are planning serial blasts in Mumbai using sleeper cells, and on the other side, Virat, a member of a special army unit, keeps a close watch on these activities, often with the help of his fellow soldiers, and works to thwart their plans. Amidst all this, Virat’s family becomes a target, with terrorists trying to exploit the situation to further their agenda. The film showcases Virat’s relentless efforts to save his country.

साल 2014 में रिलीज हुए ‘हॉलीडे’ तमिल फिल्‍म ‘थुपक्‍की’ का रीमेक है। यह रोमांस, कॉमेडी और एक्‍शन से भरपूर मनोरंजक फिल्‍म है। इस फिल्म की कहानी के लेखक और डायरेक्टर ए.आर. मुरुगदॉस है। संगीत दिया है प्रीतम ने। ‘हॉलीडे’ फिल्‍म की कहानी ऐसे सोल्जर के बारे में है, जो नेवर ऑफ ड्यूटी यानी वह कही भी रहे, लकिन जब वह फौजी बनता है तो हमेशा अपने फर्ज से जुड़े रहते हैं। पूरी फिल्म में इंडियन आर्मी के खुफिया अधिकारी के जीवन के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है, जो एक आतंकवादी साजिश को बेनकाब करने की कोशिश करता है।

कहानी की शुरुआत कैप्टन विराट बक्शी (अक्षय कुमार) छुट्टियों से घर आने से होता है। जहां घर वाले उसकी शादी सायबा (सोनाक्षी सिन्हा) से तय करवाते हैं। दोनों तरफ इनकार इकरार जैसे हालात चलता रहता है, इस बीच विराट अपने पुलिस इंस्पेक्टर दोस्त (सुमित राघवन) की मदद से एक आतंकवादी नेटवर्क तक पहुंचने की कोशिश करता है। इसके बाद शुरु होता है उसका मिशन, एक तरफ है आतंकवादी जो स्लीपर सेल के जरिये मुंबई में सीरियल ब्लास्ट करवाते हैं…दूसरी तरफ आर्मी की स्पेशल यूनिट का मेंबर विराट, जो कभी अकेले तो कभी अपने फौजी साथियों के साथ इन आतंकी हमलों पर अपनी नज़र बनाए रखते हैं और उनके प्लान को फ्लोप करते हैं। इन सबके बीच विराट का परिवार आतंकियों के निशाने पर आ जाते हैं, जिसके मजबूरी का फायदा उठाकर आतंकवाद अपने मनसूबो को पूरा करने पर जोर देते हैं…अब यदी देखना है कि कैसे विराट अपने देश को बचाने की कोशिश करता है…
