Synopsis :-
Thikana (1987) is a Hindi crime drama film directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film stars Smita Patil, Anil Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Suresh Oberoi, Rohini Hattangadi, Avtar Gill, Madan Jain, Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Suhas Bhalekar, Yunus Parvez, C.S. Dubey, Arvind Joshi.

The story revolves around Ravi Goel, an alcoholic lawyer who refuses to lie in court, which results in him not getting many cases. His mother, Mrs. Goel (played by Rohini Hattangadi), is fed up with his frequent drinking, while his elder sister, Shashi (played by Smita Patil), supports the family. MP Rane (played by Avtar Gill) is videotaped by a cameraman, Avinash, raping and killing a girl. Rane has both the cameraman and the girl killed1. Shashi becomes pregnant with Ranbir Singh’s (played by Suresh Oberoi) child but refuses to marry him, fearing it would burden her family. Ravi takes on Ranbir’s case to fight for justice1.

The film’s music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji, with lyrics by Anjaan.

Janki Kapoor and her two sons Ravi Kapoor and Vicky Kapoor come from a poor family, and have difficulties making ends meet.
To add to this burden, the family has to consider the waywardness of Vicky, who is always getting into trouble with the law. Ravi, on the other hand, is a hard-working, responsible son who earns for the family, but also makes sacrifices for Vicky. Vicky is determined to get a job in Dubai as he has heard of thousands of Indians making a successful living there.
Ravi arranges for Vicky’s visa and the money to go to Dubai. Once in Dubai, the Kapoors receive no word from him. Vicky has encountered problems in Dubai, as he was cheated out of a job and his visa was obtained fraudulently. In order to remain in Dubai, he must work for ruthless international smuggler Rana, and must earn his keep or be turned over to the authorities which eventually leads to Vicky’s death by Police with Ravi watching and brothers consoling each other while the film ends.
