Synopsis
Arjun (Gopichand), one of RAW’s best agents, who also leads a double life as Ramakrishna, who works as a bank employee. For years, RAW has been planning to capture Qureshi, who has been behind some of the biggest terror attacks in India. Despite knowing Qureshi is in Pakistan, RAW is helpless. In one of his missions, Arjun goes to Syria to nab a key member of Qureshi’s gang. It sets him off on a journey which brings him face to face with Qureshi’s son Sohail (Upen Patel). This is a wonderful commercial entertainer in the combination of Upendra, Srinivasaraju and Dr CR Manohar. Scintillating part of the film is the screenplay and preserving the suspense on the action of hero in multiple responsibilities. For all questions in the mind Srinivasaraju gives a splendid answer. Director Srinivasaraju also showcase how important is ‘Dharma’. He has given cinematic end to terrorism and attack on this sub continent India.
‘Shivam’ is director Srinivasaraju best so far. His home work and struggle is understandable after watching the film. He knows how to mix complicated issues and make it convincing. With international attack on India and ‘Dharma’ on the other side director Srinivasaraju from this film ‘Shivam’ also graduate the audience intelligence. He is quick, dashing and appealing in his narration.
At the climax, priest Shivaprasad saying the two ears of every Indian hears Kausalya Supraja Rama….and Allah O Akbar and living peacefully deserves national applaud for director Srinivasaraju.
In the highly respected family of Paramashiva, priest of ancient Shiva temple the several generations have continued rituals in a systematic manner. Paramashiva (Srinivasamurthy) wants his first son to take up the link. I am not for it and my scientific launches are important says the first son. When the tormentors are about to take on the temple with ulterior motives, Shivaprasad (Upendra) second son of Paramashiva comes up with precise answer.
While there is battle for Shivaprasad outside this religious work, he takes stern decision and proves through his knowledge his strength to continue his father Paramashiva tradition. An array of religious knowledge test is made for Shivaprasad and the elders in the society are confirmed that he is fit for rituals to Lord Shiva.
Shivaprasad is a man with extraordinary intelligence, power and vigor. His basic work is for RAW in New Delhi. He has traveled widely to finish off danger to India. It is Amanulla Khan (Ravishanker), the biggest trouble shooter. As the attack on Shivaprasad outside the temple unravels the audience goes to a solid flashback and know the purpose of Shivaprasad.
It is not right to disclose everything. You have to watch it for the concern and effort of director Srinivasaraju. The point of ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha’ is the end point of the film.
Super star Upendra is really super in his very responsible role. He was not seen in the attire of a priest so far. Upendra is fabulous in the get up and his solid action, dialogues and screen presence is the first major score of the film.
Ragini sizzles once again with a rocking performance getting in to the den of international criminals. The song for Ragini – Sakkathu Ishta…is superb. Saloni as traditional girl also haunts like Ragini Dwivedi.
A highly respected veteran actor Srinivasamurthy has added extra dimension to the role with his ability. Doddanna, Makrand Deshnapde, CR Gopi, Kari Subbu, Sharat Lohitashva, Avinash, Lohitashva, Arjun, Gowrish Akki, Geetha, Bhavya added value to their roles.
It is newcomer Gururaj M Desai dialogues that is punching and befitting to the occasions in the film. The music of Mani Sharma is also on top in three tunes. The religious song, Sarala Virala…..Sakkath Ishta Naughty Boys…are mass songs in the film.
The action is fantastic from Kanal Kannan, Ravi Verma and Thriller Manju. The film is luxuriously made and nothing short of any Hindi cinema.

Vedi tells the story of Prabhakaran (Vishal), a young police officer who goes to Kolkata in search of his sister Aishwarya (Poonam Kaur). Prabhakaran, at his native place, Thoothukudi, had developed enmity with a local don named Easwaramoorthy (Sayaji Shinde) by thrashing him in public and putting him behind bars. The enmity reaches Kolkata when Easwaramoorthy joins another local gangster to take revenge on Prabhakaran. The baddies trouble Aishwarya and her friend Parvathy (Sameera Reddy), who falls in love with Prabhakaran. While the enmity between Prabhakaran and Easwaramoorthy continues, a flashback of Prabhakaran goes on. Prabhakaran and Aishwarya were ill-treated by the society as their father was a smuggler. Prabhakaran decides to send Aishwarya to an orphanage, saying that he does not know who she is. This creates a bad name about Prabhakaran in Aishwarya’s books. Later, Aishwarya gets adopted by a North Indian family and settles in Kolkata. In a parallel scenario, Prabhakaran locks horns with Easwaramoorthy and his pervert son Rajapandi (Amit Kumar Tiwari). They kill his mentor, who made him a police officer, and the occasion of giving a doctorate to Easwaramoorthy, Rajapandi gets tempted of a lady constable outside the stadium and rapes her inside his car. After a few years, Aishwarya’s foster parents die of an accident, and she is sent to an orphanage again. Therefore, Prabhakaran goes to Kolkata and masquerades himself as Balu, a physical trainer in a college as he is scared that Aishwarya might avoid him. How Prabhakaran defeats the baddies and joins with Aishwarya is the action-packed climax of the movie.

Two dons, Cheliyan and David are enemies and Cheliyan kills David’s brother. David swears to avenge his brother’s death and waits for the right opportunity. Shiva is a youth from Kumbakonam who unites lovers and his family support him. This brings him several troubles, one of which from David when Shiva stops David’s marriage with a girl who refused to marry him. David wants to know who stopped his marriage and leaves the place without a word after seeing him. This worries his father, Ratnam as he fears that David might harm his son. Shiva hallucinates a woman who he calls Mala, who asks him ‘Why did you do like this?’ and he replies that he will correct everything. He is having a trouble for a reason and his family consoles him. Shiva’s sister is getting married and Shiva ensures that no trouble comes in the marriage. However, on the day before marriage Shiva had to face a critical situation through David who threatens to stop his sister’s marriage like how Shiva stopped his marriage. Shiva begs David and tells him that he is ready to do anything for him in return of letting his sister’s marriage happen without any problem. David demands him to abduct a woman from Madurai, who is the daughter of Minister Manivasagam, a big shot in Madurai . Shiva agrees and leaves for Madurai missing his sister’s wedding.
At Madurai, he finds Bharati, the fiancée of Cheliyan, who David want him to abduct. Shiva intends to take a selfie with her and make David believe that he abducted her but things turn in unexpected way when Bharati announces everyone including her family that she is going to elope with Shiva, getting everyone to think he is her boyfriend. Manivasagam’s men try to stop them, but they fly away to Coimbatore, the headquarters of Cheliyan. Shiva ensures that his sister’s marriage happens without any problems and gets updates from his friend, Keerai. At Coimbatore, Bharati waits for Shiva to propose her but Shiva is confused about why she eloped with him. David reaches Coimbatore and challenges Cheliyan that he abducted Bharati. Cheliyan rushes to the mall he owns where Shiva and Bharathi are having coffee time. Bharati encourages him to propose her, but in turn Shiva tells about his childhood love.
Shiva during his 6th standard was in love with a girl named Mala, his tuition teacher who is very much elder to him. The entire men of the town fall in love with her including a fresh doctor graduate Selvam. Mala reciprocates his love as well though both of them not declared to each other. Shiva misunderstands his love for Mala, but Mala tells him that he loves him as her brother. Mala’s father cheats people with fraud chit funds and he demands Mala to vacate the town failing on which he threatens her that he will commit suicide. Mala writes a letter to Selvam and asks Shiva to deliver it to him. However on the way, Shiva’s friends tempt him to watch a movie. The next morning, Selvam is shocked to know that Mala left the town without leaving any message. People who were deceived by Mala’s father demand money from Selvam and they thrash Selvam’s father leading to his death. Selvam turns insane out of shock. Shiva understands that the letter which he failed to deliver to Selvam is the reason behind his insanity. He is not able to recover from guilt and that is why he hallucinates Mala. To overcome his guilt, he starts to help lovers to get united. Bharati also reveals why she eloped with Shiva.
Bharati met Shiva during an 80th birthday marriage event of an elderly couple which was organised by Shiva. She was attracted by the fact that his family is supporting him for his acts and every one of them talks very good about him. She was waiting for a right time to meet him, but destiny brought him to her. She declares her love for him and Shiva is shocked. David calls Shiva, tells him to leave her, and vacate the place. When Shiva resists, he threatens to kill Ratnam. Out of guilt once again, he leaves the place. Things take a turn when Mala meets him in a situation where several goons chase her. She requests to take her to the police station. Shiva reveals himself and he saves Mala from the goons. David forcibly takes Bharati with him and takes her to Cheliyan. David and Cheliyan come face to face to kill each other. Shiva interrupts and takes Bharati with him. Cheliyan tries to stop them, but David interrupts Cheliyan to avenge. After a series of fights, Shiva takes Bharati with him to his place Kumbakonam along with Mala. Back in Coimbatore, Cheliyan and David try to get rid of each other. In Kumbakonam, Shiva unites Mala with Selvam. Shiva tears off the letter which he failed to deliver to Selvam years ago without reading what has been written in it.
Now Shiva has to face Manivasagam and his men to win the love between him and Bharati
