In Dillingham’s Poplar Point, a recent home invasion marked the sixth in two months. Jim Donahoe, a resident, is hospitalized with uncertain recovery chances. Mayor Laurel Danielson pressures Sergeant Frank Milano for progress, amidst her election struggles against Gil McNamara, who campaigns on a safety platform. Milano, tasked with the lead on this priority case, selects Detective Mike Logan to go undercover as a nanny to investigate inside jobs. Mike, working for the Bannermans, suspects the robberies are inside jobs and builds connections while handling his nanny duties. He collaborates with another nanny, Jessie White, and attempts to link neighborhood players to the home invasions, all while grappling with his inadequacy in the nanny role and guiding the Bannerman kids, particularly Lucas, facing bullying issues.
