It really tests and questions the theoretical notion of “Love conquers all,” and posits its characters in a context in which both are somewhat willing to try. I am personally elated and hopeful for humanity when I see in art and in life, individuals seizing opportunities to love and be loved by someone they never imagined they might be loved by, or loving someone they never dreamed they would love. Culture is a powerful force. People are sometimes more afraid of this force, than they are of the miracle and force of “true” love. Highly recommended. But know that there is a lot of philosophizing, of a religious nature, which may be a turn-off for some who do not care a whit about that stuff. It is a love story and philosophy/ religion is merely the backdrop.”

Synopsis:
Lawyer Dean Grayson’s spoiled-rotten, fame-obsessed wife Jeanette is dead-set to force their teen daughter, whom he would allow other choices, to succeed at the dance career she failed to cash in on. Ignoring pre-teen son Jason, Jeanette is ready to ‘walk over corpses’. “This is a notch above the usual LMN thriller. It’s got a pretty complex believable plot that is well written. The acting is good – better than it has to be. The crazy mom is really quite good – not too wacko to be unbelievable. Things come together nicely.
The slightly dark comedy taps into the recent Dance Mom thing and it’s quite funny. Like the no carbs thing. The plot she hatches is quite something. And the husband’s exasperation at her is right on.
One of the best Lifetime movies recently/”
