कैसे बना देती है उसे निर्मल जल, फिर सबकी प्यास बुझा देती है ||

क्यों हो जाती है विवश जब मुझ पर गिरती है, क्यों सतह नहीं लांघ पाती है |
अंदर कुछ नहीं पिघलता है, क्यों यह लाचार हो जाती है ||

गिरती है जब धरती पर, बीज फूट पड़ते हैं |
कैसे उस सूनेपन में, जीवन को ले आती है |

कैसे यह सारी सम्पदा की पालक बन जाती है ||

फिर आती है मेरी ओर, और फिर विवश हो जाती है |
कुछ नहीं दिखता है भीतर, जीवित इस ढांचे में ||

करती है तलाश बहुत पर, कुछ नहीं ढूंढ पाती है |
क्यों यह परास्त हो जाती है | |

बाद आता है समझ,
बाहर की रोशनी अंदर का अंधकार कभी नहीं मिटा पाती है ||
