Kodaira Mochizuki (Tatsuya Nakadai) has come from Edo to Bungo Tabe as Bugyo (administrative staff）. Even though he is a red-tape staff, he stays in “Horisoto” to play a lot and doesn’t come to the office. However, Kodaira was actually ordered to keep the security of Horisoto.

Written by Jiro Osaragi. This is a period show about a mysterious masked swordsman, Kurama Tengu. He is involved in overthrowing the Bakuhu and fights fiercely with the leader of Shinsengumi Isami Kondo. Ken Matsudaira acts as Kurama Tengu who is unselfish and kind to women and kids. He says, “Training at the gym made me able to move faster.” The action scene fighting with many of Shinsengumi’s swordsmen is fast and furious!
In the latest Edo era, royalistic Shishi (patriots) who tried to overthrow the Bakuhu gathered in Kyoto. On the other hand, on the Bakuhu side, Shinsengumi was formed to oppress Shishi, and the fight between them had been getting more and more fierce. One day, a man on a horse showed up and saved Shishi from Shinsengumi’s cold-blooded swords. He, Tanzen Kurata (Ken Matsudaira), was a lone wolf who wore a black cloth on his face and was called Kurama Tengu.

Kanjiro Taira acts as the hero in history!
