Humanity has been living in an epidemic of a highly contagious virus for some time now. A biologist, accompanied by a ranger, goes to the forest camp of a colleague who is studying the effect of mycorrhiza on crop yields. The destination is only two days on foot, but travelers immediately encounter oddities – first they find an abandoned tent with things, and then they themselves are attacked by unknown people who break their means of communication and leave them without shoes.
